Another Time, Another Place @ 07:15 pm

I'm currently feelin: curious curious

Okay, so this has nothing to do with tours or tickets, but I do have a question.

I was listening to Boy today, and Another Time, Another Place came on. I was wondering, does anyone know what Bono is singing at around 3:37 to 3:50 in the song. Is it a different language, or is he just trying to make it sound like a different language? Has anyone got an idea?

I've tried figuring that out. A lot of people say it's gaelic..and some of it, I believe is Gaelic...but i think it's Bono gaelic...
i've had a lot of help on this...and i believe it to be gaelic..
so here is the gaelic- as close as it can get:

Ní raibh sé agam riamh
Níor bhreathnaigh mé air riamh
Ní raibh aon fhocal agam riamh mar nach raibh aon smaoineamh agam…
Ní raibh sé agam riamh
Níor bhreathnaigh mé air riamh
Ní raibh aon fhocal agam ab’fhéidir liom a thuiscint….

and in English:

I never had it before
I never watched it before
I never knew any words cause I had no ideas...
I never had it before
I never watched it before
I never knew any words I could understand I...

That sounds about right. Reading those lyrics, I recall hearing a live version in which he says those lines at the end, only in English.

The demo version of the song has it in English which is pretty much what you have said except that the last line there is:

I never knew, I never understand, I saw you scream

I'm a fan of that song and have been listening to it for these many years but I always thought it was Bonoglese. He's made lots of words up at the mic like October, UF, or Achtung Baby come to mind. Of course he could be speaking in tongues for all I know, just a thought mind you!

yeah ive always thought it was Bonoglese but then i started learning gaelic..and it sounds very much like gaelic.
Although, as i said, it's Bono gaelic. There's some words in there, while listening to it, that i couldnt understand at all.....Bono gaelic!
