I'm currently feelin: excited excited

As most of you already know, U2 will be playing the ACC on September 12th & 14th. Tickets for the Toronto go on sale Saturday March 19th at 10am, but if you are a member of U2 fan club you’ll get first crack at the tickets. Check out www.u2.com for all details. The ticket prices are as follows: general admission $57.50 and seats range from $50.75 to $176.50 (obviously plus convenience charge).

Man, for a university student, those are pricey tickets. Worth it? 100%. Pricey? Yes. I'm assuming for u2.com members, the presale for Toronto (since it's the first date of the fall tour) is this week rather than next week. Tues for Propaganda members, Wednesday and Thursday for u2.com members. If anyone knows otherwise, please let me know!

Bono for World Bank president!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wow!:

If Bono, lead singer of the legendary irish band U2 became the president of the World Bank, he would cancel third world debt and really bring billions out of poverty.

The pres. of the World Bank technically has more power than pres. Bush, and can certainly directly affect more lives.

So here's what you need to do to pressure the american gov't (who's job it is to elect the WB pres.) to nominate Bono officially!

Call a guy named John Snow, executive secretary for the u.s. treasury department, you can leave a message for him with the treasury department at 1-202-622-2000, or email John directly at treasurer@do.treas.gov

The exec. sec. of the treasury dept. is a pretty obscure position, and doeasn't receive that many phone calls from average americans. So if he gets 10 or 20 calls, he will consider that major support and pressure!

Yay, Bono in 2005!!!

Sincerely,
Steve Sacco

tickets are slightly cheaper in Ottawa. $49.50 for GA, and going as high as $165.

Fucking hell!! I have to pay that much fucking money for fucking tickets?! Sorry, I'm just a bit shocked. $57.00. I know that's cheap but still. I need two tickets. I'm so screwed.

Well, for GA that's not bad... there have been acts that charge far more than that for the the privilege to 'stand' for two hours.

I have a question (since I've never been to a concert in my life and this is all new to me).
For GA do they have rows where you stand or do you just stand wherever?
Thanks!

Love & Peace
God bless

No designated 'standing spot'. You'd have to line up to get up close. Essentially, for stadium/arena set-up with a GA ticket would only get you into that area. From then on, you'd be on your own. ;)

Thanks for the info! If I get tickets it'll be a weekday in September so I'm thinking of ditching class to wait in line for hours. Ha.

Another Toronto-goer (well, actually Torontonian) here! So what is everyone else here doing? I can't possibly do GA (no way am I standing in line for hours on end - just not feasible with my schedule), so I'm thinking I'll go for the highest end, golden-circle. The price is incredible, but this will be my first U2 concert ever, and I may not ever get another chance soon...

Although I've always wanted to be in GA (to dance with Bono during With or Without You... none of that lying beside him nonsense, though, that was in the Boston DVD), I think I'm going to try for seats... preferably close, obviously, but I think I'm going to be participating in the Toronto general sale so my mom, dad and younger sister can come with me, which means getting 4 seats... not exactly great for prime-ticket locations. I'm saving my presale code for the Ottawa night, because my older sister (who also loves U2) can't go to the Toronto dates.

Yeah, don't get me wrong, I'd love to be up close with Bono and the rest of the band, and would probably die of sheer happiness if I had the opportunity, but now that I know that the line-ups are so long, I just can't do it. :-( But that's okay. I'd probably get squashed in the mass of people in no time, lol, since I'm not really that tall and not particularly aggressive. I'd probably end up on the clear other side of the stadium.

haha that's me too. Unless I really got the VERY FRONT of GA, like right up where I could dance with Bono, I wouldn't be able to see a thing since I'm so short :)
