Hello Hello!!

Horrible rumour... @ 10:21 pm

jinx:
I'm currently hearin: Tell Me That It Isn't True - Bob Dylan

A friend of mine told me that his friend, a self-described U2 freak, said that he'd heard the band were going to break up after this tour.

Tell me that it isn't true!

Well considering Bono has been talking about the NEXT U2 album. I doubt it.

Given the age of the band members and how long they have been around, I think that is a common rumor.

Very much so. UK newspapers have often printed stories about U2 quiting. After the lovetown tour & shortly after PopMart spring to mind.

These stories tend to get rehashed every so often.

I don't think Bono has it in him to ever be able to stop performing :)

i wish they would dream it all up again....
ditch the safe, catchy, pop tunes and come out swinging a louder, better band.

You're so right!

HTDAAB is nothing if you compare it with the other albums like The Joshua Tree and Achtung Baby.

Still, it's the best album of 2004 if you compare it with the other bands and artists.
Well... Except for Luie Hond :P (that's a dutch reggae band).

Don't worry. I think U2 are as loyal to each other as an Irish Catholic married couple.

This rumour goes around during every tour. But like someone said, Bono's been talking about the next album. I think we're safe. :)

If that were true, then I ate my Zooropa CD for breakfast this morning.

However, it is very much still safely sitting in its case. I would much rather it be there than in my stomach.

what the hell are you guys talking about? i know this is true for a fact. the edge recently bought a llama farm, and a new zeland newspaper quoted him as saying that he can't wait to hang around with the llamas all day.

ok, so i obivously made that up. but it was fun.

I wouldn't believe it. Almost any band that is really big like U2 has rumours like this flying around everytime they do a huge tour.

Thanks all. I guess I kind of knew it was a rumour, but I just wanted confirmation. :-)

He's probably been spending too much time looking at the 'OMG, IS THIS THE LAST ALBUM U2 WILL MAKE'/'WILL U2 SPLIT UP AFTER THIS ALBUM' threads on interference...

Bono allegedly said somewhere that the band won't quit until they come out with 2 albums in a row that suck. I don't see that happening anytime soon, especially with HTDAAB and the upcoming tour ticket sales doing so well...
