Yesterday I was looking at bargin dvds and I heard about this small film when it came out in 2000 but never heard about it again. I knew U2 and Bono had something to do with it., So i picked it up for $5.50.. First I understoood where the film was going then I got lost then I got back into it again. Oh yeah Bono Wrote the film and has a few songs with u2 in the film. he also does a cameo. the bonus features has commentery from Bono and a few interviews with the cast and crew. The opening with The First Time was a perfect way to open the film to get you drawn into the story.

Full length Bono commentary you say? That might be worth re-renting. I liked the film. It wasn't great, but I really liked a lot of the actors. Mel Gibson not being one of them. Of course, I was biased :P

The commentary is amazing, Bono is hilarious. He does a really great Liverpool accent near the end :)

Never seen the movie, but it is a great soundtrack! Fave: Falling At Your Feet, then Dancing Shoes, Never Let Me Go, and Ground Beneath Her Feet, in that order. Oh, but I did read the Salmon Rushdie book from which the lyrics to GBHF were taken, definitely keeps you turning the pages.

Ooh, I watched the movie, but never listened to the commentary. Thanks for that information.

I agree about The First Time. I often think of that as being one of the best marriages of music and visual images that's ever been done.

The movie was OK. I wouldn't want to see it again. Mel Gibson was quoted as saying this about the film a while back: "The movie is as boring as a dog's ass". Great soundtrack and Bono commentary though :-)
