girlfindsworld:
The Joshua Tree was rated number 2 in the '100 greatest albums' poll on channel 4. Not bad, considering they were voted ahead of the (many) Beatles albums which were included on the chart. It was the only album featured, unfortunately.
Radiohead's OK Computer was voted #1.

A Michael Jackson album was probably number 1. Usually is.

Oooooooh! For some reason I didn't read #1. What the hell is wrong with me? Thanks! *laughs to self* I'm such a fool.

While Radiohead has done some songs that I like quite a bit, I will never in a million years understand why people drool over them so much.

I agree. My ADD kicks in when I am listening to them, and I can't focus in on them.

Same here. I can't even get through three of their songs in a row before I want to put something else on.

They're just one of those bands. You either love it or you just find it boring. If your someone who doesn't like Radiohead, you're probably best listening to The Bends to introduce yourself, rather than some of the more recent, heavier stuff. That's what I did.

How many times does C4 have to conduct that poll? Interesting the first time in 94? But god knows how many times they've done it since.

OK Computer deserves top 5. But how any album can top Dark Side of the moon is beyond me.

Amen! I work for my college radio station, and last night we put on 3 showings of Dark Side of the Rainbow...i listened to Dark Side of the Moon 9 times in a 5 hour span. Never once did I get sick of it.

Personally, I still don't get how people seem to just love that album. It's okay but it just feels like Radiohead spent most of the time just playing around with what weird noises they could make with their instruments.

You think that about OK Computer? Listen to Kid A.

I like Radiohead, and I love that album, but to even mention it in the same sentence as JT is blasphemy.

I'd rate "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road" a distant second to JT. Everything else is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay behind.

I actually think OK Computer is far superior to the Joshua Tree. I have never warmed to that particular album, for some reason. I think Achtung Baby would have fitted better in second, but it's a subjective thing, I guess.
