Manchester, 14th June @ 05:56 pm

samuti:
Hi everybody!

Just a theoretical question for the moment really...

I've been offered a GA ticket at face value for the concert in Manchester on June 14th. :D Problem is, it's just the one ticket, so I'd be going on my own. Sooo, I was wondering if anyone else here was going GA to that show, and wouldn't mind me tagging along? Ahh I hate asking these things. Or, do you think I should make no prior arrangements, just turn up and be 'adopted' by the wonderful U2 fans next to me in the queue? :P

Again, this is just theoretical, as I have until tonight to decide whether I want the ticket or not. Any responses much appreciated :)

I'd say if you can get a GA ticket for price, go for it.

I'll probably be doing the same thing as you if I decide to see them again in October. U2 fans are U2 fans, some people talk to other people, some people don't. But once you actually get into the arena, does it really matter if someone's with you or not?

If you're going to be waiting in the GA line for any period or time, you're more than likely going to talk and get along with people. Unless you just pull yourself back and don't.

Very true. I'm just hesitant because I've never been to a concert on my own before, and I've never been in any part of Manchester other than its airport :P

I'll definitely get talking to people in line I think, even if I do end up going with other people, just because I'll probably be too excited to shut up! I think I just need a bit of reassurance that it'll be ok - in terms of having a great time - to go alone.

Thanks for your comment :)

It's not that hard, really. Most people, on a general level, are decent if not nice and will answer questions if you ask.

And friends or not, once you get insidethe arena, you pretty much forget who's next to you. The show starts and you're focusing on the band. Yeah, it's cool to have someone to nudge when something neat happens but it's not like having an actual conversation is really possible and the people around you are going to be just as excited.

Welcome. :)

Going to concerts on your own is fun, in a much different way to going with friends. I would recommend you try it (unless its your first concert ever). The good thing is, you can have your own opinion about all the songs, and not just do stuff because your friends are doing it.
