In case anyone is curious, here's a small account of my experience at a ONE Campaign rally in Philly on the 14th.

If you only want a quick recap: No, Bono was not there. I got an idea on presenting ONE to my church, and I met one of the editors of Get Up Off Your Knees: Preaching the U2 Catalog. Pretty neat two hours, I guess :)

That's really cool. Thanks for posting. =) I'd really like to get involved with the ONE campaign; I need to look into it.

And, I really need to get that book.

I have always interpreted "Wake Up Dead Man" differently than most, and I'm really interested to see how the author interprets it as well. That's one of my favourites from Pop.

A few weeks ago I was listening to Wake Up Dead Man, and the picture that came to my mind was that of Mary Magdeline weeping after the death of Christ.

There were two sermons in the book about the song. The one I read talked about it being a song of lament, and connected it to Psalm 44.

Lots of pastors have refered to U2 songs (or the band themselves) in sermons and I believe someone took it all and put it into a book.
