Hello Hello!!

May 25th, 2005

yet another GA question @ 10:29 am

bostondave:
Does anyone know the particular procedures to get into the heart for the Boston shows?

I read that GA folks get a wristband when they show up and are picked at random to enter. Does it matter when you get the wristband? Whats the deal...

TIA!

If this is done like they did most other places, it'll roll something like this:

Line up in two lines, U2.com members and everyone else. Everyone gets their ticket scanned once to confirm you have real GA tickets. Wristband is given. Your ticket is scanned again. Here, the random number generator decides if it likes your ticket number or not. If the screen blinks either "U2 U2 U2" or "Vertigo Vertigo Vertigo," you and *ONE* lucky friend get direct access to the bomb shelter. If the monitor says "Proceed to Floor" then you're stuck on the regular floor.

El-e-va-tion.

It doesn't matter if you bought them through U2.com or not, you just need to have your membership card. So, if you have that aiport-security-warning-flag piece of metal, you should end up in the shorter line.

Tickets say no Cameras, but the band allows cameras, provided they are non-professinoal. A rinky dink camera/throwaway is fine (or has been at other venues), but any sort of crazy lenses or the such will get denied. Of course, some people also manage to get decent video cameras into the venues these days.

Cameras

Hi, I'm new but thought I'd weigh in on the camera deal. My fiance saw them take disposable cameras on Tueday night. My friends who were on the outside of the heart had a Fleet Security dude who took his job way too seriously and discouraged them from taking photos. So, I'd bring it - hide it and be careful using it. And have fun tonight. I have to wait until Dublin to see them again - erm - more like hear them. Our seats are a high mile from the moon, I believe.
