October from "October"
KISS.
Short for Keep It Simple Stupid.
u2 never cease to amaze me. What is the shortest song ever turns out to be one of the most beautiful piano pieces I've ever heard. I think I've heard my godmother playing this tune on the piano before when I was like 6. Now I'm going to find the sheet music/learn it by ear.
It's quiet. It's solemn, it's free standing on its own. I love the way it begins to crescendo at the end and then dies off completely.
Bono's (what I like to call) puppy voice is in full action here. The lyrics are so simple, again applicable to any situation or anybody. Jesus, your girlfriend, a war. Take your pick. It all fits.
Award? If the piano is played by Edge, then it goes to him.

October and the trees are stripped bare
Of all they wear.
What do I care?
October and kingdoms rise
And kingdoms fall
But you go on
And on.
Ay Yesus. That white pixel in the award is going to drive me nuts.
