Hello Hello!!

July 3rd, 2005

Just out of interest... @ 05:04 am

I'm currently feelin: grateful grateful

Am I the only person who cried non-stop throughout U2's set at Live 8?!  It was all so amazingly good and so moving. Even Vertigo had me in tears!

I adore this band.

As much as I enjoyed it...I was actually totally disappointed at the lack of emotion. Sorry. But I was really expecting a little bit more than just, what seemed to me to be, just another standard performance. It had nothing on the original Live Aid performance.

Just my view.

It reminded me very much of the two wonderful Vertigo shows I saw a couple of weeks ago, so plenty of emotion... I just thought it was amazing to see 200,000 people (not all of them U2 fans) going mental and singing along with every word, it was like a giant U2 gig!  And the moment with the doves was beautiful, as was Bono's huge smile during Unchained Melody.

(Also, I love the fact that Bono's voice is amazing right now... just compare this performance with the one they did at Net Aid!)

I was there, and Bono had me in floods during his little speech. I've been to a bunch of shows this tour, and I've heard him talk about Africa many times, but yesterday's speech was definitely the most moving one I've heard him give. I hope a lot of people took it to heart.
