My Joshua Tree memoir @ 01:58 pm

fiveandfour:

Awhile back a local paper published what I've come to think of as "U2 memoirs".  It was an article wherein the author described where he was in his life when the various albums came out, what the music meant to him, etc.  For a long time I've been meaning to copy that idea, but I've never done it.

I was inspired, though, to do something on The Joshua Tree today that I decided to share in the hopes that it would inspire other fans to do the same.  I really enjoy hearing people's personal stories of what the various albums, songs and concert experiences have meant for them.

I'm semi-new to LJ so I can only hope I'm doing this right.  So without further ado, here's my JT story:

Ah, but the question is, have you been there?

As spectacular as that album is, it gets about 1000 times better if you're in Joshua Tree National Park as you listen. Especially in the rain. :)

Yes, I've been there though I haven't gotten to spend as much time to hike around and absorb it all as I would like. I think in a couple of years the family will be going again, so maybe next time...
