1) What was the very first U2 song that you remember hearing?
I think it was Beautiful Day when i was around 13. Actually I probably heard more before that, i just didnt know it was u2

2) If different than #1, what song convinced you that you liked U2?
The Hands that Built America. I know thats an obscure song, but my mom had heard some of their earlier stuff and thought she liked it, so for her birthday I got her their 1990-2000 greatest hits, because that was the one cd i saw with a song i recognized on it. I heard the rest of the album and fell in love with that song, and a lot of the other ones on there too, but that one stands out.

3) Name something about the song in #2 (or #1, if applicable) that hooked you on U2?
the melody. i find myself attracted to songs with a strong melody, usually in a more minor key, and the melody in "the hands that built america", as everybody here probably knows is incredible. plus, the lyrics are beautiful.

4) What makes you stick with U2 even though they have changed or evolved over the years? well i'm more of a recent fan (i started listening to them when i was about 13-14, only about 3/4 years ago) so for me its more of discovering the old stuff than anything else. i know im not going to stop being a fan because although their music has changed through the years they always manage to come out with something incredible. you would think after multiple decades, they would run out of ideas, but they dont. each new thing they do is something exciting to discover.

5) What bank member do you like most and Why? well i dont really know much about the rest of the band members besides bono, but i definitly admire bono not only for his voice and musical talent (unbelieveable), but the fact that hes so charitable and seems like a really wonderful person.

6) Where are you from and how much radio airplay does U2 get in your area?
I'm from los angeles and as far as airplay- NOT ENOUGH!!!! its pretty rare for me to hear a u2 song on the radio, except for right after how to dismantle an atomic bomb came out, vertigo was playing on this one station like 24/7. that same station also has 80's music on friday nights and occasionally i'll hear something by u2 on that. but basically.....not enough!

Thank you for the reply! Yes, you have to respect what Bono has done for Africa and he is a wonderful person that can express his emotion in songs in a wonderful way... Are you going to the concerts at the Staples Center this fall? I have added you as a friend.
