Yahweh Video @ 08:08 pm

Just came across this spiffy tidbit over at atu2.com:

Thanks to our friend Matt for pointing out the web site of NY design shop Spontaneous, who created the animation that plays behind the band during "Yahweh" on the European tour. The song/video is cut down to just 2:50 long, but you could devote a lot of time to analyzing all the images it includes, especially in the "city" scenes at the end. (I noticed a FREE sign atop one building, which reminded me of this image from the first leg; then there's a heart shooting up through the ground and building; etc.) Rhetorical question: Has any rock band done more to advance the cause of art and design than U2?

You can watch the video here.

I downloaded that yesterday... I recognise bits of it from the show, but this is a much more complete version than the one they use on tour.

I absolutely adore the way they illustrated "This love is like a drop in the ocean", it fits the song perfectly. U2 don't play that part of the song at all, a decision which I cannot even begin to understand - it's the best bit!
