How likely is it that the boys are going to just up and decide, "You know, we kind of liked North America, let's do it again," near the end of the tour? I'm having some severe concert withdrawal going on, here, and can't afford to travel, though I'm seriously considering it...

Y'know, that would be great. But I'm actually starting to feel for some of our Kiwi, Australian, South American, Mexican, and African friends. :-\ When did they see them last? PopMart?

I see you're in Vancouver? I suppose the closest concert is Portland? (I'm guessing.)

Yeah, probably. Maybe I can couchsurf if I can get in contact with people I know who are supposed to be there. That can cut down on costs.

Ohh...<cries>

I'll have to see if I can get the time off work. Oh yeah, and the tickets.

By the way, how did you guys get your tickets? I want to get a pair so I can go with a friend as a Christmas gift. So far, the ones on eBay are horribly, disgustingly overpriced -- which is to be expected, really.

Fenway Park? *prays*

Stadiums would be SO COOL. I was at Paris 2 and I couldn't even see the band because I was halfway back on the pitch but it was SO AMAZING.

After, of course, they tour the southern hemisphere... *hides*

I've been pressuring my mom to take a vacation to New Zealand. Am dying to go there. Maybe it will just happen to coincide with a U2 show, much like my trip to London coincided with their Paris shows. *sideways look*

<crosses fingers for Vancouver>

They liked it here, didn't they? They want to come back, don't they? :(

Yes, well Scotland got ONE show this tour. Yes, that's ONE SHOW. They're not coming back here, as far as I know. Even anywhere in the UK (although it'd be expensive for me to even travel outside Scotland). At least they'll be on the same continent for the next leg. And maybe again next year. *shuffles away, mumbling obscenities at u2 for this tragic oversight*

You might be waiting a while ;) I'll be there! Which quite frankly is reason enough to come without u2, I reckon ;)

Hey, you know what? The USA has had more U2 shows in the last four years than my two countries (New Zealand and Australia) have EVER had. Even IF they play both countries in 2006, it will be the first time they've played Australia in eight years and New Zealand in thirteen.

So frankly, I wish U2 would stop spoiling the US and play the rest of the world for a change.

I'm so sick of you Americans whining for more U2 shows. Come live down here and get a clue.

Hey, you know what? I'm sick of you ignorant twerps assuming all North Americans are from the United States.

What the hell crawled up your ass and died? I'm so sorry I fucking asked.

Sorry I didn't check your bloody user info. And sorry my abilities to automatically ascertain the country of residence of someone I don't know aren't working today. How about you just replace 'USA' with 'North America' in my earlier comment instead of expecting me to read your mind? The meaning doesn't change a jot.

No, it doesn't; your comment still means "I'm can't be bothered to respond in kind when someone puts out a polite query because I'm personally insulted by the fact that someone else wants to see U2 again." Quit trying to justify your rudeness.

Nice misinterpretation job. I'm not personally insulted that you want to see U2 again, don't be silly.

What I do have a problem with is U2 excessively touring North America, and North Americans still complaining for more shows when U2 have a terrible record as far as touring outside North America and Western Europe goes. The US and Canada combined have somewhere in the vicinity of eighty shows this tour! Really, isn't that enough? A third leg is totally unnecessary if there is not a new album.

I understand what you're saying, but I still don't see how my expressing my enthusiasm to see them again merited a cut-down.

In any case, that's the last I've got to say.

Uncalled for? No, you know what's ACTUALLY uncalled for?

1. You expecting me to know this person was from Canada. I don't go reading the user info of strangers all too often, I'm afraid.
2. You bringing U2's music into this discussion. Last time I checked, they haven't sung about their abysmal tour schedules (Lovetown and Popmart excepted).

Many of us down here are starting to become a bit cynical about U2's motivations. I've noticed some have come to using the term "U$A" when referring to U2's schedule and the fact North America gets two legs a tour while those of us down here completely miss out. It is incredible - disgraceful, even - that U2 can completely overlook AN ENTIRE HEMISPHERE. And the more I read North Americans whining for more shows, the more frustrating it becomes. I think you'd start to get at least a bit bothered and cynical when your country has had less shows EVER than the USA+Canada have had in a mere four years.

You're clearly being oversensitive if you see any "whining" in my post. If you have a beef with U2's tour scheduling, I'm hardly the person to bitch about it to.

My apologies, I was generalising there and was not referring specifically to you. I've seen many posts on multiple U2 communities along the lines of "whyyy does [North American City] have only two shows????"
