I'm currently feelin: content content
I'm currently hearin: Ani DiFranco - This Boquet

So, unlike a good portion of the people here, I am only 15, and I can't drive, and won't be for at least 8 months.

How about 3 cheers for a bicycle?! HECK YES.

So picture this:

It's the first day of October, a new month. It's 4 o'clock in the afternoon and you're riding your bike down a 4-mile strip of road right along the shoreline. It's October, the once packed streets are not totally deserted; all of the tourists have gone home. The sun sun is just starting to set, but the sky remains a brilliant blue, and it's completely and utterly cloudless. It's cold out, but the sun warms you just enough to keep you comfortable. You blast your U2pod as loud as it goes, and it burns your ear drums. It's just you, the music, and the road. The chorus to "City of Blinding Lights" fills you up and you can't remember the words to the song even though you know them all by heart on any given day. The only words that ring through your ears are "freedom." You are pedaling so fast that your calves burn with the lack of oxygen. But you can't slow down - you are biking to the beat of the music, because right then, you ARE the music. You are one.

And that was my day. :)

Just thought I'd share, it all just felt so perfect, you know?

Just as long as you're aware of the oncoming traffic from behind. ;)

Brilliant. A perfect way to round out the day, eh?

I'm 16 and therefore only slightly older than yourself. However, I can drive! So...hello?

I had a similar experience with LNOE last month. It was right on the eve of Hurricane Rita (pfft!) around 5 in the afternoon. Everything was turning so grey and rain was about to come pouring down. I hopped up on my bike and sped around the neighborhood to that song and it was so surreal. It really felt like the end of the world with the ugliness outside.
Creepy.

Once you drive and get a car, I highly reccommend driving at high speeds to "Mofo". I did it about 3 times today and it was so amazing.
High speeds according the speed limit, kiddies. I don't want to encourage reckless driving. ;)

Heh. There are few feelings as good as zooming along in a car, windows down, a favorite song blasting. Oh my, yes.

I'm 17 and I still can't drive. I haven't even attempted the written test yet. Too lazy/poor to afford a car.

No bike, and no car either (not like I have anywhere to go anyway), but I like taking walks with my iPod, turning up the volume, and just wandering around. Though I tend to want to stop, close my eyes, tilt my head back and sing. I usually have to resist. You know, to avoid having the neighbours thinking I'm nuts.

I know what you're talking about, I'm 15 and can't drive like you...
And I did the same thing the day before me and my family evacuated from Beaumont, heh. I just went around the neighborhood in my bike, listening to U2 really loud.
