Although it would have gone nowhere as a single, I would have loved for October to get some airplay.
Or any U2 song at that, around here anyways.

Thank you onebadkite for the peer pressure.

In the GA line, I was talking to a girl behind me, and I mentioned that my least favorite U2 album was October. She told me to listen to 'ITABTTW' - she said it was one of her favorite songs. So I listened to it and it's pretty koo. Deserves to be a single, that or 'Tommorow.'

Peer pressure is what I do best.

Myself, I had to go with "Tomorrow". It was my first SotD for a reason. Well, I wanted you people affected by the hurricane back, and I was being a nosy job-stealer.... but the other reason is I heart it. :-D Tough decision between that and "Rejoice". But I really think listening to Rejoice all morning made me like it so much at this point... so I went with Tomorrow.

Honestly, I think that this is one of the lesser known U2 albums except to us that are the hardcore fans! Most people don't think about any of these when talking about their favorites... I think some of these began to help shape the thoughts and ideas that became a mainstay for them years later. When did any of you loyal fans buy this album compared to the others that you have purchased?

I picked a Stranger in a Strange Land, because I can relate to that right now with all that I have been dealing with... Just curious, were any of them ever released as singles? If so, they must been a foreign (or B-side) release that I missed. I haven't even heard any of these get radio airplay to my knowledge either!

I bought October the same day i bought Boy, both of which were a few months before i bought Unforgettable Fire. I was 15, and i actually had to ride my bike like eight miles to get to the CD store to pick up UF. It was worth it :) The only albums i had to get after that were Passengers and Under a Blood Red Sky (if they count), and ATYCLB and HTDAAB...'cause they hadn't been released yet ;)

So, you must be a fan of the older and more obscure U2 music... Nothing wrong with that! I like almost all of U2's work for different reasons. I like their ability to change and evolve their music to fit situations. When I need music to get me motivated or encouraged, it is easy to find some U2 music that makes it happen...

I also have an appreciation for where these guys have gone! As I have said before that is why these guys are so great! Additionally, that is why they are in their prime and in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame as well... They are truly timeless! Have you ever seen them live?

Yeah, i tend to be more of an "80's U2 Fan", but like you said, i love how they change things up and evolve over time. I find myself rediscovering ALL of their albums and other material in intervals. "Timeless"...indeed.

I've seen them live four times now...twice on Elevation (Charlotte and Indy) and twice on Vertigo (Phoenix 1 and 2), and i'm getting ready for number five (Atlanta 1). I've always said that a U2 show is like a diamond...it may be similar to others, but it's also unique, and it's always of utmost value that you can cherish forever :) This coming from a metalhead, hehe..but hey, it may be corny and kinda cliche, but it's true!
