Hello Hello!!

U2 on Jeopardy! tonight @ 11:30 pm

mangoprophetess:
I'm currently feelin: embarrassed embarrassed
I'm currently hearin: U2 - All I Want Is You

Fellow U2 fans, I feel I have failed you all.

Tonight on Jeopardy!, one of the categories was entitled "U2 Song Titles in Other Words" (it aired more than 4 hours ago, but a girl's gotta find out who died on Lost). I'm sad to say I only got 3 out of 5. And they were all signature U2 songs, too!

I'm not 100% sure on the exact wording, but these are more or less correct.
1st: "Sabbath Sanguinely Sabbath"
2nd: "To a Brit or Yank: Honor, Color, and Favor"
3rd: "Dizziness, Hitchcock style"
4th: "What you might caption this picture if marking a map" + a picture of street signs that looks kind of like this, only blank
5th: "Rosh Hashanah, for example; Cheers!"

I got 1, 3, and 4.

I'm sure you guys will get all five without any problem, but guesses?

And now, because you guys got them all...1. What is "Sunday Bloody Sunday"?
2. What is "With or Without You"?
3. What is "Vertigo"?
4. What is "Where the Streets Have No Name"?
5. What is "New Year's Day"?

I'm pretty sure 4 is Where the Streets Have No Name.

Nice one on 5! The Cheers! thing threw me off.

LOL, I'm only getting 1,3, and 4 too.
Also you shouldn't mention the Lost thing. You can mention Lost, but some people might get mad about the 'thing'.
;)

(It was such a great episode too!)

In terms of the answers/questions (I never quite know what to call them on Jeopardy!) or in terms of Lost? ;) Because if it's the former, yes.

Too obscure for "Jeopardy" viewers. Besides, the correct answer is "New Year's Day."

Remember do put your answers in the form of a question. :)

Hehe, i actually caught it tonight. Straight outta Raleigh, hells yeah (capital of my home state). When i first saw the category, i got all excited...then like three of them threw me off so much that i didn't get them. I actually got every question right on the Roman Emperors category, but not the one featuring my favorite band of eight years. I just thought the clues were a bit confusing, at least in the few seconds you get to answer. Alas, i'm still a touch embarrased.

Hah! I wasn't watching TV when it was on, but as soon as I got home my mother looked up at me and asked "GUESS WHAT WAS A JEOPARDY CATEGORY?!" She even wrote them down - I got everything except for the last one. I'm not too familiar with Jewish holidays and toasting traditions, I guess.

Heeey... Could #2 be With Or Without You? Or "With Or Without U" if you think about the clues. ;)

Totally missed With or Without You by a mile. And I'm not well read on my Jewish holidays, so that was the other one I missed.

In related news, on Mastermind here the other night one of the questions was 'Who had hits with Who's Gonna Ride Your Wild Horses and One?' (or something very similar) and the guy answered, 'Take That!'

For those who don't know, Take That were a cheesy 90s boyband. Oh, how I laughed. And the guy didn't win Mastermind, so justice was duly served.

You did not fail all of us! I still love you because you love U2, even if you missed some silly questions that had to do with the greatest band ever... *hugs*

I watched this last night too! I was actually going to post it, but I couldn't remember the exact questions...and you already did it :)
I got 1, 3, and 4 when I was watching. With or Without You didn't really make sense though...
I was so excited that this was a catagory! :D

It's a really obscure clue. Brits (i.e. people in the British Isles) spell those words with a "u" and Americans (i.e. Yanks) spell them without a "u". Hence, you can spell them "with or without 'u'". I'm not surprised none of the contestants got it.

And I was all excited, too! Until I only got 3 out of 5. :(
