Musos Awards

Sorry if anyone's already posted this, I'm a bit behind with reading the community...

The second annual Musos Awards will be taking place in London this month, with Arctic Monkeys, Babyshambles, Bloc Party, Coldplay, Graham Coxon, Franz Ferdinand and Futureheads all up for awards.

The awards, the only event of its kind where the winners are voted for exclusively by musicians, takes place at Koko in Camden on Wednesday November 23.

Alongside the bands we’ve already mentioned, the enormous list of nominees for the 2005 awards includes Goldfrapp, Gorillaz, Hard Fi, Kasabian, Maximo Park, Oasis, Ordinary Boys, The Paddingtons, The Rakes, Razorlight, Supergrass, The Tears and The Zutons.

Previous winners have included Ian Brown, who says of the event, “I don’t usually do awards, but this one means something because it’s voted by my fellow players and musicians”

While Peter Hook, a previous Best Bassist winner, added, “When I started in this business in nineteen seventy seven we had beliefs and trust in people and trust in ourselves and it’s nice that twenty five years later we have trust in something”

There will also be performances on the night from Metro Riots, DOGS, The Young Offenders Institute and an acoustic set from Athlete, with many more to be announced.

There will also be DJ sets from renowned rock n roll DJ’s including Primal Scream’s very own Mani.
