It would probably be the best-selling Christmas album ever. :)

How much would you LOVE to hear Bono singing "Grandma Got Run Over By A Reindeer?" XD

Haha, I was gonna ask this question a while back.

Definitely unplugged, much to Larry's dismay. Sorry!

This is soo funny.
My teacher and I were talking about U2 and the live shows and how unlike my other favorite band, Dave Matthews Band, U2 has never released a live album, as in, recorded from the sound booth for cd release.

Eg: Dave Matthews Band @ Red Rocks, 7.15.95
ya know?

So I voted for a live album.
DMB usually releases a DVD too. so both.

&& vh1 storytellers... have they not been on there? Because if they haven't it's about time they are.

I don't know if they were or not.... but I have a CD of Ringo Starr's appearance on that show. It's good. A similar CD from U2 would be wonderful. :)

Not to be too picky, but maybe an acoustic storytellers?
Just throwing out ideas.
I'd personally want an acoustic album more than another live CD.

i voted for a new live album. i don't mind acoustic albums sometimes, but sometimes bands try to acoustic-ify songs that shouldn't be, and they sound lame. U2 have too many power songs that probably wouldn't translate well.

But they have enough that would translate well that don't get enough exposure. Stuff like "In A Little While" and "Running to Stand Still." Although they're pretty much acoustic anyway.

My point is that an acoustic album would give them a chance to showcase some "deeper" songs that aren't always in the spotlight.

Just picture the bantering among the guys between songs.... XD

I'd go for any one of the first three. A Storytellers album would be fun though.

To me, there's no real need for an actual live album when we have the DVDs. Audio rips can be made from those.

Granted, that's going to mean only those of us who know how to get them would have them, but official live releases would be overkill for us. ;-)

Or you can scrounge EBay for bootlegs like us non-technical people. :)

Problem with that is that you never know what you're getting.

Two words: Pop Unplugged.

(Not sure how Discotheque would work but...)

Acoustic all the way! Sometimes I wish they had done "MTVUnplugged" back in the 90s like Nirvana did, but alas, they were touring ZooTV. :)

Wow, I'm amazed so many people voted for an acoustic album.

Personally, I can't stand it when U2 water down their songs. Listening to acoustic versions of songs like Desire and Stay is like having a tooth very slowly pulled, complete with typically bland dentist office music.

I'll take a live album, though preferably with a decent selection of tracks rather than the dismally bad U2 Communication. The Electric Co., anyone?

All I can say is, I wouldn't want to be the one to tell Larry there's a Christmas album in the works.

I've gone for the Unplugged idea - Alanis Morissette's one is amazing, and it'd be interesting to see which songs they chose to perform - but I'd love a U2 Christmas album too!!
