U2/ONE @ 06:52 pm

films:
So can I ask a question it may sound dumb but how has U2 changed your life if this Vertigo Concert was your first U2 show ever. Do you view the world diffrent? I know when I went to my first show I saw the ONE station. I looked at it but I passed it up. I did not sign. But 23 days or so after the concert last night I went to U2.com and from there I went to the one site. and signed up. Funny I felt like I made a diffrence. I may even get the single from itunes (Don't give up) And as of right now I am listening to the ONE Podcast. Its intresting.
i may get some rist bands or a t-shirt. Also the rolling stones interview (podcast) listening to Bono and everything I seem to understand more of what he does and everything. And now it just seems everything towards U2 stuff like that is personal to me now. And thru the many U2 songs I seem to learn more about my own self and who I am as a person. Looking into my past. Looking into whats going on right now. And have hope for a good future.

If anyone wants to talk IM me via aol Popcorn97

Yeah, it has changed my life, for the better of course. I am no longer a live U2 virgin. I was a fan of their music, mostly the singles, of course but never really got hardcore into them until this tour. I had bought ATYCLB, but that was all I had.

I am now a proud U2 fanatic.. or I'm getting there.
I realized that I'd really been missing out.

this was my first U2 show and first concert ever. It did change my life.

On a personal level the thing that affected me the most was coexist...I have never really seen someone use those symbols together, and combined with the songs played during that set, and the beautiful light display during "Yaweh" I would say that was a spiritual epitaph in my life. A moment where I finally realized that God is God, I know Gos is real, and God is love...for all people, not just a chosen few.

I also lost a good friend a few days before the show. I learned to sieze life by the reigns by letting go at this show and being free to experience every emotion adn every song as if that moment was my last..

Finally, I learned what true euphoria feels like..and I will never get enough of it...

I wore my heart, my soul and everything in between on my sleeve that night, and really did tear down some of the walls that hold me inside, to paraphrase.

I know what you mean about the bootleg. I have the one from the Dallas show, and listen to it whenever I need a smile!

Another thing I forgot to mention is that I feel now that no one can truly appreciate the power of Bono's singing voice until they see them live. My friend who went loves U2, but now loves them even more after hearing Bono live..and so do I!!

They honestly haven't 'changed' my life. I was a fan before, and I still am. The only difference being that I have now seen them live.

Seeing them live for the first time did kind of change my life, in a way. My first show was the most religious/spiritual experience I've ever had in my life. And by the time I saw them again 5 months later, I was craving it, as if I needed a live U2 fix to realign everything in my life. Kinda weird. Call them my miracle drug, I suppose. ;)

the vertigo tour was not my first u2 concert, i saw joshua tree, most of which i barely remember, and the zoo tv tour. i lost touch with the band after that, mainly because i didnt like Pop or Zooropa. this tour changed my life though.... i got to meet bono and edge before the tour and it opened my eyes to the fact that i had become a middle aged, sarcastic, jaded person with little laughter and no love for 'human kind'. a two minute meeting with them blew my socks off and spurred me on to researching everything i could about the ONE campaign, DATA, Bono's TED speech, and i even got into politics and tried to understand it for the first time in my life. I also am no longer jaded, have hope again, and see the world outside my own little universe.

Vertigo was my first U2 show. I don't think it specifically changed my life. U2 in general has though. Mostly since ATYCLB. Since that album came out, I've been paying more attention to U2's lyrics, especially when it comes to their religious meanings.
