Grammy Awards Performance @ 09:14 pm

packofpoodles:
OK...I absolutely need to say this, having just watched it on t.v. Is it just me or does the overall sound of the performances at the Grammys this year completely suck? The vocals sound kinda off to me. And despite my absolute avowed love of U2, sorry, but I found Vertigo kinda uninspiring and One was just o'kay.

But yay...best rock album. duh.

Yeah, I think the Edge was drowned out in the middle of "One"... I'm not a big fan of the Mary J. Blige - Bono duet anyway. But yay! Rock album.

I was disappointed because they didn't play COBL. It would have been better if they hadn't done Vertigo back to back with One. Maybe if they did it later on in the show it would have been better. I thought One by itself was great. Mary J. brings a lot to the song I think.

COBL would've been a great opening number.

I know. I'm feeling sort of "meh" about them all. Mary J. was tearin' it up though..."A" for effort on her part. lol

haha. perfect icon for that statement.

I think the song wasn't really meant to be a duet, if they had a song that was actually written for two people, would've been absolutely beautiful.

That was not their best performance, I agree. Poor Bono was struggling with "One". Vertigo was a descent performance. They sounded better in person, IMHO.

For some reason I thought Mary J Blige sounded offkey pretty much the entire time. In any case I thought she sounded awful and ruined the song. Why must bands duet?

It's not just you - the overall sound sucked ASS. Oh, the irony - a music broadcast, and they can't find someone to make it sound good.

The sound was very very sucky, when Coldplay was playing and they made a big deal aboiut the guitar, ou could barely hear Johnny playing...

I liked the performaces of Vertigo and One, I thought they were pretty cool, but that just might be cause I'm still not used to see U2 on live things on TV

it was definitely not U2's finest live performance.
