U2 LiveJournal

Hello Hello!!

February 19th, 2006

Told you there'd be more... @ 11:21 pm

stay_please:
You know you're a U2 fan when...

you sit in your car in your driveway for a few minutes, just because the '90s flashback program is playing "One" - a song you could easily go inside and turn your media player on for.

What can I say? U2 on the radio is a novelty.

Yes it is. I did the same thing when the Classic Rock station in Miami declared it a U2 day on the first night of their concert and played "Whose Gonna Ride..."
I stayed in the Target parking lot listening to it, got out, came back in the car and played it on my CD player again.

At least it hyped me up for my own concert, eh?

Yeah, I've done that. Plus, for some reason
"With Or Without You" sounds better on the radio
than it does on the Joshua Tree cd.

If that is you, then I must be a really hard-core fan, because I will always stop everything that I am doing just to listen when I hear a U2 song come on the radio...

I also agree that commercial radio stations do not play enough U2!

It is my personal opinion that any song from Achtung Baby sounds ten times better over the radio.

What's wrong with staying in your car for a few more minutes? I definitely agree, though - I've done that a fair few times. Somehow it just makes it that much more meaningful when you know other people are hearing the song at the same time.

I absolutely agree with you!! :-)

A couple of days ago, my dad and I drove in the car, and suddenly they played "Who's gonna ride your wild horses" on the radio, and I totally got excited and turned it louder (sooo much louder) and sang along with all my heart and soul... and my dad, who sat next to me, just shook his head in bemused irritation LOL

U2 on the radio = they don't play enough of them!!!!

ahhaha! the last time my sister and i heard U2 on the radio... it was where the streets have no name... we turned it up the loudest it could go and were jumping up and down and screaming.

right after the song... we put our joshua tree CD on. and jumped around some more.

Heh - when I put the radio on earlier, One was playing!  Afterwards the DJ said he'd played it for anyone experiencing the Monday blues, as he finds it always helps. :)

I think it's so nice to here your favorite artists on the radio because it means that someone else loves them too. It's completely different because you didn't go on to your computer or CD player and MAKE it play, someone else likes the song, and wanted to play it. it's a nice feeling. I get that with so many bands, U2, Our Lady Peace, Evanescence... the list goes on
