"I'm So Tired!!" @ 11:32 pm

sabneraznik:
I'm currently feelin: amused amused

Bono at the launch of the Centennial Festival celebrating the work of Samuel Beckett: http://dynamic.rte.ie/av/2128046.smil

I just love that bit of improv he does at the end. I want to add it to a savefile project of audio poetry I'm making for National Poetry Month (April). Does anyone know how to get it in MP3 format?

That's marvelous! I love the fact that he amps up his accent when he's at home.

I think he has too.

He might get jumped for being TOO Americanized.

All he has to do is get Larry to talk to him...

I believe Larry has the strongest accent of them all.

I adore the accent too. It's possible that he has to vamp it down outside home so people will understand hm better and to get past the unfortunate fact of prejudice barriers, also.

Well, that is, of course, how we would feel. What? But, Bono doesn't call them the black of europe for nothing. It's sad, and I certainly love the Irish, so much so that I drive people crazy with it, with the world can be a mean place.

Oh, I hope Bono's wrong about people not laughing at Beckett. The "Abuse" bit between Vladimir & Estragon in Act II of Waiting for Godot is hysterical. But that poem he recited at the end was *brilliant*. Bard on, Bono! Bard on!

What's the name of the poem Bono recites? Can I find it anywhere? I wasn't paying attention. :p

"Waiting for Colgan", and it was written by Bono, specifically for the occasion. The poem is meant to be a Patiche of Beckett, meaning, written in the style of Beckett. Bono takes it a slight step farther and turns it into the words of Beckett from beyond the grave.
