Hello Hello!!

fadedgalaxia:
I'm currently feelin: blah blah
I'm currently hearin: U2 - Mercy

A few random events/thoughts from my U2 obsessed mind:

- I gave a speech about a week ago on the AIDS epidemic in Africa, and I used a quote from Bono: In Conversation with Michka Assayas, and a line from "When I Look At The World" in it. I got an A on it. I was quite proud of myself.

- I was watching a set of 90s videos a few weeks ago, and they showed the video for "Interstate Love Song" by Stone Temple Pilots. I was so excited because a) that's one of my favorite songs both from the 90s and by them, and b) I had never seen the video before. What made it even better is that almost the whole thing was shot either in or on top of the Million Dollar Hotel. There was much squeeing on my part when I saw that.

- About a week ago, my car stereo (which had my copy of Oasis' "What's The Story Morning Glory" in it at the time...grr...) and a large chunk of my CDs were stolen out of my car. And, yes, that included ALL of my U2 CDs. There was something happy about it, though; I had a majority of all my favorite U2 songs on 2 CDs which I had taken out of my case a few weeks before and were AT HOME. Hallelujah! So, I went to the CD/Record store across the street from my school on Friday and bought a new copy of Pop. It was used, and was $8.99.

- My new Pop CD has brighter rainbow colors on it than my old one, and my old one was brand new, never been opened. I thought that very unusual, but wonderful at the same time.

- I got a hold of "An Cat Dubh" yesterday, and whenever I listen to it, all I can think about is Bono crawling around on stage on the Vertigo DVD acting like a cat. It makes me smile. ^_^

- In Geometry right now, we're messing around with something (I don't know, I don't really pay attention in that class anymore...heh...), and there's lots of mention of "edges". I giggle, but I have no one to giggle with, so everyone always looks at me funny. It's quite fun.

Now, I have a few questions:

- Is there a full, complete list of all of the music videos that U2 has made somewhere? I've seen quite a few videos, but I know there's a LAAAARGE amount that I have not seen.

- Does anyone have a copy of Night and Day? I can't find it anywhere...

Well, I'm done. Thank you all.

Peace, love, and lemons all.

<3

I trust you credited both of these quotes to the right people?

u2.com for starters. u2wanderer and u2tour.de next.

I wouldn't quote Bono and not give credit! I love how he uses his words...I may not always listen to exactly what he's saying, but I'll listen just to hear it all flow together.

...That, and I love his voice. ^_~

The fact that you gave a speech about AIDS in Africa is just plain wierd because I just gave a speech about the ONE Campaign in my Public Speaking class and I got an "A" and I used a Bono qoute from his speech he gave at the National Prayer Breakfast earlier this year. It's also a line from "Crumbs From Your Table" which is quickly becoming one of my favorite songs. Coincidences are so very strange...

This is no way related to your post, but you realize in your icon, you can lose the Gary Sinise degree of separation because Tom Hanks was also in Apollo 13 with Kevin Bacon. ;)

I thought the exact same thing. I love the 6 Degrees of Kevin Bacon game. :)

Heh...yeah, I know. I noticed that after I made the icon. I just really love Gary Sinise, and I don't want to get rid of his name. Heh.

The most comprehensive U2 videography site I've come across is this one, although sadly the screencaps don't load any more. There's also a good one here.

Which version of Night & Day are you looking for?

...I should probably point out that both of those videography sites are somewhat out of date, but I expect you know about all the recent videos anyway!

Crap...there's more than one version? How many are there?

Quite a few. The Steel String Remix which appeared on the One single is the best, IMO, but the original version from Red Hot And Blue is quite different. There's also the Twilight Remix and the Orange Mix. There's even a surprisingly impressive live version from 2003!

Wow...that's quite a few. I hope you don't mind if I ask, but woud you possibly be able to upload the original version for me? And, maybe, possibly, the Steel String remix, since you said it was the best?

...I didn't know there was so many...goodness...

Here's the Red Hot And Blue version. I'll have to rip the Steel String Remix off the CD, so I'll try and do that tomorrow. :)
Just yell if you want the rest, though I seem to recall I didn't think much of the other remixes.

Here's the Steel String Remix - enjoy! :)

Just in case, here are the other ones I had too:

Twilight Remix - I seem to have two differing copies of this and I wasn't sure which to upload, so here are both. This one is a few seconds longer but sounds a bit crackly to me; this one sounds cleaner but is slightly shorter. Take your pick!

Orange Mix

Live version (MusiCares 21-03-2003)

Haha, edges. You were dealing with graphs, weren't you? We did them just a few weeks ago, there was some question we were solving - I wasn't paying too much attention either - and the answer was something like "If such a graph has [insert whatever number] nodes, then it has 40 edges. I was like "Wha? 40? Edge? Of course!"

On an unrelated note:

You have an entire extra step in your icon which is unnecessary, since Tom Hanks was also in Apollo 13.
