Song of the Day - Wayback Weekend! @ 01:46 pm

Today I've got a rare bird for you my lovelies; one of U2's few ventures into instrumental tracks. From the second Single Pac release in 1982 comes

Things To Make And Do

This was the B-side to A Day Without Me, a startlingly upbeat and busily bouncy track to pair with the suicidal ideation of the song inspired by, and dedicated to, Ian Curtis of the Joy Division. The riff from this track found its way into a live version of another song; can you name it?

I will elaborate when I don't have a shrieking migraine.
Happy Easter tomorrow to those who observe it. :)

This is one of those tracks I just can't think of much to say about. I have it on a mix CD but hardly ever listen to it. It's nice enough - not as captivating as, say, Endless Deep, but reasonably good considering the band were still young'uns at the time. I think the bassline might be the best thing about it, even though it's Edge who hogs most of the spotlight.

Errrr.... nope. :/

More classic early U2! Love the live version of this.

If my head wasn't stuffed with a flu bug I'd probably get the answer to your question. Early live U2 is by far my fave U2 period.

I absolutely love this track. It's great!

I have a feeling I recognize the riff from somewhere, but it's difficult tó name it. However I'm making a brave guess ;-) This morning, I was convinced it is to be heard in "Two hearts beat as one". Right now, I think it might be "The Fly".
Just thinking.
