My guess is it's probably not happening, since the Unforgettable Fire documentary was put on the Slane DVD. But I'm hopeful that since they're releasing Zoo TV, that means that Under a Blood Red Sky and PopMart will also be underway for release in the near future. =)

Its ironic that I got the U2 Popmart Mexico Show on vcd from Hong Kong of all places. Thats another show I'd like to see transferred to dvd format.

I actually have it on VHS (got it from Amazon) and the first thing I did was record it on a DVD. To keep it safe of course! =)

I doubt TUF will ever be released on DVD. Those videos will most likely end up on the 80-90 DVD when that comes out.

I hear ya about Red Rocks tho! PopMart likewise, lets hope there not too far away.

Will be good to have a fresh new copy of the show, as my original video is getting rather worn out in *cough* certain places, and the second hand replacement I bought isn't much better!

It's also great that newer fans who missed out on the video (and haven't got it through eBay or whatever) will now be able to see this amazing show. Best U2 video release ever, by a million miles. If there's anyone out there who's only seen the Elevation and Vertigo DVDs and thinks that's the best U2 have to offer... prepare to have your mind blown!! :D

Not sure what to think about Disc 2 just yet. Hope the documentaries are good, as I don't think much of the bonus tracks they've selected. :/

I think the Red rocks & PopMart DVDs will give this a run for its money tho. The VHS ZOOTV was the worst of the lot just for the shitty sound alone. Will be great see watch it with some decent sound, will actually sound great at last.

I agree I'm not exactly wetting myself over the bonus tracks. But when you think about it, what other tracks could they have put on it?. TTTYAATW & Desire were setlist staples for a setlist, that changed very little. Ultra Violet could be argued for sure.
Just chuffed we'll finally get to hear this release with some decent sound!!

Well there was never anything wrong with the sound on my ZooTV video, until I wore it out anyway!! Always sounded amazing to me...

It's not the choice of songs I object to, it's where they're being taken from. With all this footage of other Zooropa shows turning up on the Net recently, I was kind of hoping they might release some of that stuff officially... but nooooo, instead we get two tracks from an American show (including the stinking Mirrorball Man, of all things!), plus those two songs from the Stop Sellafield concert that we've already got the shitty audio from. Great. :/  And if they're going to include TTTYAATW, why on earth not the one from the Sydney show?? Then it would have been like Mysterious Ways on the Slane DVD, and would have been a nice way to complete the concert without disrupting the tracklist we're used to watching.

...Meh, then again I guess there was a lot of speculation about why TTTYAATW was cut in the first place, apart from just making the show too long for the video release. So that's probably why they're taking it from elsewhere.

Maybe I'm just an audio snob. But the sound on the ZOOTV to me sounds bogging awful, I know I'm not alone with that view. Compare it to other official live videos from that era. Even Red Rocks sounds better.

Well you are getting pretty much a full Zooropa show!! :p I guess they have to appeal to the Americans, who never got the Zooropa show. So you can see the sense in that. Agreed, I'm abit miffed about the sellafield footage, flooging a dead horse comes to mind with that one AGAIN! But why worry about it? You've got a full Zooropa show being released in all its glory.

Yep. TTTYAATW will never see the light of day, officially anyways.

Yeah, I s'pose. Not that they've exactly catered to the Europeans when it comes to the most recent tour... :p

But why worry about it? You've got a full Zooropa show being released in all its glory.

Yeah, but it's one I've already seen. :p  I did hope they'd put in a bit more effort with the DVD extras, for the benefit of those fans who already own the Sydney video. You yourself mentioned that most or all of the shows were filmed, so it's not like the footage isn't out there. Oh well, just have to hope there are some tasty treats in amongst those documentaries!

Now they just need to release "PopMart" and "Red Rocks" and I'll be ecstatic. :)
