Is there REALLY any question?

(Link)
As good as Popmart was, ZooTV was classic and quintessential U2.

And the men stuck in them.

Not to mention belly dancers with bulging packages. Yech.

Did you go to both shows? Just curious.

Oh, it's all good.

Honestly, they were both great shows, but there was just something truly amazing about the ZooTV show. I could wax poetic, but I think I will leave it at that.

'Course I am scared now that someone is going to come along and say "I was too young to go at the time" or some shite like that. ;op

Not even close IMO. ZOO TV was revolutionary, not just for U2, but for the live rock concert experience. And while PopMart had lemons, the music for Zoo TV was way better.

Although, if you search, there's a great interview with Willie Williams about his feeling that history will vindicate PopMart with respect to stage design innovation.

ZOOTV was always gonna win this poll. But it would be interesting to see the results of just us Europeans. I reckon PopMart would run it much closer.

The last one also had a clear winner right from the start, but I always like to see just how many people join in rooting for the underdog.

Easy.

PopMart had some great stuff, and considering that following up ZooTV was always going to be an impossible task, they did a pretty good job.

But come on. ZooTV was just the greatest thing in the history of the entire universe, and nothing else will ever come close.

I refuse to answer on the grounds that I haven't seen all of either of them.

I'm a little biased, since The first ZOO TV show ever was also my first U2 concert. I saw more shows on that tour than any since, and loved them. Leather pants, trabant cars, Achtung Baby condoms, ah yes, the ZOO TV tour was marvelous!

I'm afraid I must abstain from this since I have not heard all of ZooTV, and I haven't seen either.

I'd vote--but I haven't seen either of these shows in full.

I think I need to see the DVD to make a fully informed decision ;)

I don't know why, but Popmart always seems depressing to me. It feels like U2 on the edge of a cliff, struggling to stay on. Not that I've seen either, but I prefer ZooTV bootlegs, even if the shows are less personal. I don't know why. Maybe it's that I can't stand Velvet Dress and wasn't impressed with the way the Pop songs translated live. They just seem to have a hollow feel to them, whereas AB songs gained additional dimensions live.

Probably zootv . . . popmart was too arrogant.
