Hello Hello!!

fadedgalaxia:
I'm currently hearin: Wheatus - Teenage Dirtbag

I went and saw "The Devil Wears Prada" today with a friend of mine, and got a huge suprise when "City Of Blinding Lights" started playing during it.

What are some other movies that U2 songs have been in, besides the obvious (example: Million Dollar Hotel, The Gangs Of New York, Batman Forever, etc.)? And, would you go see a movie just because it had a U2 song in it? I know I would...

"Three Kings" has In God's Country at the end, and it worked perfectly.

IT TRIPPED ME OUT!

Because my friend ... well, my sister [haha] Megan, we both went together and I heard the piano intro and we both FREAKED. It was the coolest thing ever because when I saw click, i called her just to let her hear "Ultraviolet"

A high priced fashion line. Shoes and bags mostly, I think.

- Elizabethtown: Pride (In the Name of Love)
- Tomb Raider: Elevation
- City of Angels: If God Will Send His Angels
- Faraway, So Close!: Stay
- Reality Bites: All I Want Is You
- Bandits: Beautiful Day
- Vanilla Sky: Wild Honey
- Bloody Sunday: Sunday Bloody Sunday

There was some movie who's title escapes me at the moment that either used "Out of Control" or "I Will Follow" in the film. Whatever it was, I know it was off the Boy album.

... what can I say. I'm a bit of a film nut ;o)

I'm sure there's plenty more, but those are just the ones I knew of off the top of my head.

Donnie Darko was supposed to have MLK in it, but they couldn't afford the rights. That would have been really cool. I think it would have matched the scene better than Mad World did.

donnie darko having mlk would have broke me. not only did the longer version have INXS, but it originally was supposed to have U2?! I don't think I could handle my three loves in one place.

although, i have to say i love the version of 'mad world' they used, it's haunting and gorgeous. but you're right, MLK would have fit the scene so much better.

The Pillow Book (Greenway) has "Daddy's Gonna Pay for your Crashed Car" in it.

I love catching U2 songs in movies or references to the group in the media :)

I really, really need to see The Pillow Book. Doesn't Ewan McGregor strip to DGPFYCC in that movie?

The beginning of "Runaway Bride" had "I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For" in the beginning credits... otherwise I didn't really pay attention to the movie as I did work in front of the TV. :P

mr. deeds with adam sandler and winona...sweetest thing, almost died.

and yes i would go see a movie that had a U2 song in it, because they have to be doing something right to make an awesome decision like that!!! Not just U2 though, I find myself going to a lot of movies because I liked the song they used in their trailer or whatever...

I was already planning on seeing the devil wears prada, but now its a must see!!!

Dangit. I was getting to the end of the thread, and was all "Mwahaha, I have a neeeew one!" You! You ruined my hopes and dreams.

... okay, I'll stop. :P

But really, "Bad" is the only thing that redeemed such a horrid movie.

Not U2 but I was quite excited to hear Bono in "In The Name of the Father". It was a very pleasant surprise to hear him singing in the opening credits--it was quite a powerful moment for me.

not a movie, but CSI used one of Atomic Bombs songs last year in their opening sequence... and they probably paid for it as it was about 2 minutes long... cant remember what song though, but it was a surprise since the album was relatively new at the time. i thought it was brilliant on the part of u2 to get it out there.
