Seasonal preferences? @ 09:03 pm

canadanne:
I'm currently feelin: curious curious

I was just wondering, does anyone find that a particular U2 album seems best suited to a certain time of year?  Like, is there an album that sounds better in summer, or reminds you of Christmas, or whatever?

I like driving in the summer with the windows down, singing at the top of my lungs to The Joshua Tree and Rattle and Hum.

Seconded. JT especially on a warm evening at twilight, driving by the ocean with all the windows rolled down (for me anyway).

Vertigo always reminds me of fall now, because of seeing the tour in November. Achtung Baby and ATYCLB both remind me of summer, the times when I would play them the most, windows down in the car....

Best list yet! I definitely agree with Pop as a long, hot summer CD.

JT is summery, to me. I guess early fall could work too, when everything is still warm-colored. Other than that, none of the others have a season attached to them. I find that UF is wonderful for all seasons, bu the others are seasonless. :D

Achtung Baby is so depressing that I always associate with winter.

JT, POP, ATYCLB, HTDAAB are all summer. Unforgettable Fire is really spring to me, but a Scotland-Ireland-English type of spring where there's just grass and trees and mist and rain and really nothing bright or cheery around. Mmmm, UF is my favourite album.

The Unforgettable Fire is autumn. The Joshua Tree is summer. All That You Can't Leave Behind is late summer.

Atomic Bomb to me is spring - full of the promise of hope

UF seems to be dead of winter to me, even though there are many upbeat songs and its one of my favorite albums

Achtung is also winter, but instead of misty and grassy (as someone already mentioned) actung is more icicles, tree branches snapping from too much snow, dark nights and sparkling bits of stars when you are lucky enough to glimpse the light of them

October - fall/early winter

Joshua Tree - full on summer. must be all those deserts, hills, blood red harvest moons, etc :)

the rest dont rate for me as seasonal

great question btw!
