I'm currently feelin: amused amused
I'm currently hearin: Elvis Presley and America

This was in The Fitz Files a column in the Sydney Sun Herald on Sunday, I've only just gotten around to posting it now. It may or may not have actually happened, but I was amused. You'd honestly had to have no sense of humour, if you don't see the joke in it...

Three months ago, U2 are at the height of a sell-out concert in Glasgow, when Bono asks the audience for total quiet. When silence is achieved, he starts to slowly clap his hands. Now, while continuing to clap his hands together, he leans forward and says portentously into the microphone: "Everytime I clap my hands, a child in Africa dies." A voice from near the front pierces the silence: "Well, fookin' well stop doing it then."

Oh god, I needed to laugh like that. Though it didn't seem right when I read it aloud to my sister and had to stop after "Every time I clap my hands, a child in Africa dies" because I was laughing too hard.

My sister: "Heather... that's not funny."

It obviously didn't really happen as U2 didn't play Glasgow three months ago (they last played there on 21 June 2005), but heee, I find it amusing.
