Just kickin around here before I go to work listening to U2 (as usual) and I found a six minute version of Walk On. I don't know where it is from but I was listening to it expectign to hear my favorite ending part "hallelujah". However instead I was greeted with "How long, how long, must we sing this song" and I literally SQUEELED in delight!

Jeez its too early to be this happy heheheh

On a side note my parents once asked me why I liked U2 so much. In response (and I'm saying this because i want to know everyone elses opinion) I told them it was because everything about them, from the music to the fans, made me feel happy. Their whole personality, way of life, beliefs, and most of all their music just walk in step with me. Their fans are good people who (for the most part heh) have a good head on their shoulders and are naturally just good people. Going to a U2 concert is not just going to hear some band from Ireland play music for a couple of hours, it's like walking into a room with 20,000 of your favorite family members and having the tim of your life, leaving all the cares in the world behind. I don't hold them up as iconic or prophet but when they speak, I respect them enough to at least stop and listen.

So my parents said those were all good things, while at the same time I'm sure, remembering their youths listening to Janis Joplin and the Stones hehehheehe.

new fake journal

I've created the fake journal of Mr. MacPhisto, the devil/retired rockstar. He is in no way expecting to associate with the other members of U2 who have fake journals on LJ. He realizes they have an established story line of their own, and does not want to interfere. MacPhisto is here solely to be the devil he is and entertain the masses. He is not intending on being Bono in any sense, just playing the part that Bono created over ten years ago. If you'd like to read his musings, feel free to add him to your friends list. I now return you to your regularily scheduled madness.

p.s. Warning: slashy topics may arise, as that is how my brain works. And sorry for the cross-posting!

U2 at the Oscars

That would be one brilliant night.

Producer Gil Cates announced Friday that U2 will perform on the 75th Anniversary Academy Awards telecast.

The Grammy-winning band will perform their Oscar-nominated song "The Hands that Built America" from "Gangs of New York." It will be their first time performing on the Oscars show.

Tattoo stuff

I want to get a couple more tattoos. One of them is going to be a thistle (for my ancestral Scotland) and the other(s) are U2 related.

One idea was to get a four-leafed clover, but instead of an outline of plain black lines I'd have the band's names basically the shape of the lobes of the clover would be outlined with BONO THE EDGE ADAM LARRY and then the inside would be green.

The second idea would be to have someone sketch out faces blending together, so that I'd have four distinct faces in a square (two on top, two below) but where they touch, they'd blend, Bono's right cheek would blend to The Edge's left, The Edge's chin would blend to the top of Larry's head, Larry's left cheek would blend to Adam's right, and the top of Adam's head would blend with Bono's chin....but it'd all be in black and white sketch...

Any thoughts? Or other ideas?
