random story :)

I got home yesterday from spending two weeks in England for a school trip. We happened to have two of the most uptight teachers on the trip, and we weren't allowed to do ANYTHING AT ALL while we were in London - including be in the hotel lobby past midnight. So a friend and I go down to the lobby about midnight anyway so I can call home for a few minutes, and after I hang up, my friend points at the ceiling, and I look up and she starts laughing and THEN i hear the music. Beautiful Day is just starting, which is one of my favorite U2 songs (bc it makes me soo happy haha). Sooo, out of a need for some fun in our life, my friend and I spent 3-4 minutes dancing around the hotel lobby to U2 in London. U2 alllwaayys puts fun in your life!!!

I've had a really rough week, and it was getting to the point where even music wasn't helping.

I was driving to my work's other office (which is approximately 60 miles out in the country) to pick up a very important package. I went to grab U2's "Best of 1990-2000" but I picked up "Best of 1980-1990" by mistake.

I was blown away... again... and again... and again.

It's amazing how that band and those songs never cease to brighten my day. I've been a U2 fan since 1984 (the year I was born), and the songs on that album brought back so many memories. Before I knew it, I pulled over on the side of the road and just wept. .. not necessarily sadness, more or less I was just overcome by all the emotions that the songs recalled.

U2 is the best band on the face of the Earth (andifotherlifeformsexist,I'msurethattheyblowtheirstuffoutofthegalaxy)
