So I was in a grumpy/depressed/generally pooopy mood tonight. On the way home from work, my non-U2-educated-or-even-really-enthusiastic girlfriend starting trying her hardest to sing U2 songs to me to cheer me up. =) It was really funny, and really sweet of her to try, knowing she merely puts up with my obsession for them.

And it DID cheer me up, and she even talked to me and asked me all kinds of questions about them and their music, even though I knew deep down she was only mildly interested, and she undertsood that talking about them would make me feel better. =)

Just wanted to share!

A U2 Joke for all

Just felt like sharing a joke with all of my fellow Bono worshipers. :)

When Jeff Buckley died, he went up to Rock and Roll Heaven. When he reached the Pearly Gates, he was greeted by Elvis Presley.

"Hey, there, Jeff," drawled the King. "Welcome to Heaven. I'm here to show you around." Jeff and Elvis walked around, and Elvis introduced Jeff to all the legends: Jimi Hendrix, John Lennon, Jim Morrison, Janis Joplin, Kurt Cobain, and all the rest. The two continued to walk around when Jeff spotted Bono admiring himself in a mirror.

"Hey, Elvis," he said, "Isn't that Bono over there? What is he doing here? He hasn't died."

"Oh, that's not Bono," Elvis replied. "That's God. He only thinks he's Bono."

Jeff Buckley - "Lover, You Should Have Come Over"

(no subject)

It's kind of funny how one song can have such an effect on you. i was driving home tonight after seeing a movie with a friend, and I had the best of 1990-2000 in, and I put it on beautiful day. It's not their best song by any means, but it just makes me so incredibly happy :) I turn it way up and can't help but laugh and smile when I listen to it (and sing at the top of my lungs and laugh some more at the looks I get from other drviers)...it's like a mild adrenaline rush. What song is it for you?
