ok now i honestly believe that i am the only person that has not heard the single yet. I keep trying to listen for it but no luck. If any of you are from the boston area please tell who's playing it. I am actually ok with waiting until the album comes out the hear it as a whole but if i happen to hear it now that would be excellent. thanx : )

U2 therapy

I was just reading a newspaper article about a Brighton woman called Carina Barnett who fell into a coma due to meningitis shortly after giving birth in 2001. She woke up three weeks later and was convinced she was still 21 years old, when she was actually 39 - she had no memory of the past 18 years, didn't recognise any of her friends, found she hated the colour scheme of her own house, and couldn't even remember having the baby. Talk about traumatic... rather unsurprisingly she ended up splitting from her husband of 7 years. Anyway, the relevant paragraph is this one:

After Abdoulie left in December 2002, the first thing Carina did was redecorate. "It was incredibly therapeutic," she says. "I painted everything in tranquil shades of lilac and blue which made me feel very peaceful. It was a sign of a new start."
She also listened to the U2 album All That You Can't Leave Behind, which helped her deal with her situation: "I played the album so much Iisha would say 'Not again, Mum!' when I put it on. I really identified with a lot of the songs."

I just thought that was cool... another example of U2's music touching people in amazing ways. :o)

Imagine the sight for a moment......

It's 6am. You're moving about your place getting ready and you're singing Who's Gonna Ride Your Wild Horses like you're on stage at Sun Devil.

I can only imagine what my neighbors think.

Turn it up now Captain'

reader Tom O. emailed to let us know of his chance encounter with none other than Larry Mullen Jr., this past week in New York city. "He was all by himself and I just said hi and started a conversation with him," Tom writes. "I told him I couldn't wait for Vertigo, the new album and the tour and he said that the band will be back in NYC in March. This kind of supports the rumour that the tour may start in Boston."

People Get Ready?

I have another favour to ask... this time for a friend.

I'm just going to copy and paste this from the IM window:

Sarah (9:25:37 PM): Katie, I have a huge, huge favor to ask of you. But first, I need to ask a question.. do you have any live U2 songs? If the answer to that is yes, do you have any live songs from their Phillips Arena show in Atlanta on November 30, 2001? If the answer to that is yes, do you have the song People Get Ready? That's the one Richard did with them, and I cannot find it (for free) anywhere!

If anyone has this song, just leave a comment so I can direct her to this post. Thank you!

I don't know about you, but I thank God for U2.
They have helped me through soo so so much.
I went home for the weekend to see my family and home and all that, as I'm having a rather difficult time adjusting to being so far away. I had a great weekend and was feeling good as I drove back to campus from the airport - until I walked into my room. Over the weekend, my roommate moved all of the furniture. I knew she was going to, but I guess I wasn't really expecting it. She split up the rooms and took the bigger of the two rooms in the suite and had my tv and other stuff and all of my junk is in the smaller room...I don't mind so much, but I'm having such a hard time adjusting, that it wasn't something I needed. I sat on my bed and cried for a minute and then got up, moved the tv into my room, and put the slane castle dvd in. It just puts everything in life in perspective and helps you recover and move on and forget about stupid things like how you and your roommate all of the sudden don't get along so well anymore...They keep me from just losing it and breaking things or doing something stupid. This is a small thing, a room change...they help with so much else.

Introductions are so..unnecessary.

Hi. I'm Salty. I used wear out my browser with Zootopia. I'm sure someone else here is also in mourning.
But thank the stars, there is Livejournal. So I haven't been U2-Online savvy in a good year and a half. I can't wait to get back to my old self. So I just wanted to say hi to crazy u2 fans such as myself again! *ahh* This feels good. Oh, and I'm in radio, and it sucks to be in a smaller market right out of school, when u2's next album is coming out! Maybe when they come out with their next (in another 4 years :P), I'll be in a bigger market.

Nice to see people like me again. I missed this! ~Salty
