Possible New Lyrics from the U2 Camp

Hey Everyone,

I've been lurking for awhile and decided to introduce myself.

I belong to a U2 fan group on Yahoo and today someone posted lyrics to "City of Blinding Lights" from the Top of the Pops performance.

Does anyone know if these are correct?

Just curious about it.

Anyway, I am a serious U2 fan....and I am looking forward to How to Dismantle An Atomic Bomb way tooooo much

From Interference:

Irish rocker BONO has vowed to make FRANZ FERDINAND's lives a misery for trying to steal U2's place as one of the world's biggest bands.

Bono is convinced the Scottish TAKE ME OUT foursome will become more popular than his band, but he refuses to let them take U2's place too easily.

He says, "Franz Ferdinand make me a bit nervous. They give me a bit of a twitch. The only people who have the confidence to praise people who came before them, are guys who are absolutely sure that they 're going to pass you by, and they should be confident.

"We're certainly not going to make it easy for them. Instead we're going to make their lives miserable for the next few years. How incredibly embarrassing is it going to be in five years time when we're still the best band in the world?"

Hahaha, that last part is precious!. Bono's awesome, but come on, how come he think Franz Ferdinand will be bigger than U2? U2 has a solid career, FF has just started theirs. :-|
Anyway, it makes me glad to hear U2's not giving up. :P They will continue to be the best band in the world for a long long time. :)

I'm a little sad that I didn't get to hear "All Because of You" and "City of Blinding Lights". Damn my American television.

If anyone has any clips, you would rock my socks off if you could email them to me or IM them to me!

Does anybody know what is being said in Vertigo, about 14 to 17 seconds in during the guitar intro from the Edge. It sounds like 'Achtung' is said, but i'm unsure - has anyone else heard this?

Hola, hola!

I've been reading this community and liking U2 for a while, but I've never posted anything here, besides a comment on some long-ago post, explaining why I think "Vertigo" is about prison rape.

So... I'm introducing myself. Yo. I wuv U2. I enjoy their music, I admire their politics, and I'm impressed with the wonderful, meaningful, lyrics in all their songs, and the... passion that Bono sings with. U2 had better stay awesome with this new album, or I'll be sad. "Vertigo" is okay, but nothing special. Hopefully the rest of the album with at least be on par with that.

So... yes. And for the sake of trivia, I think my favorite song ever is "One." It rawks!

P.S. The local alternative/modern rock radio station, which generally just plays a lot of punk/emo crap, has been playing "Vertigo" a lot recently, and I found out today that it's at number one on their... whatever. Charts? So some damn punks are getting an education in good music.
