I downloaded "Fast Cars", and holy fuck. I'm in love with this song.
Why, why, WHY did they leave it off the American release of HTDAAB?!?! NO FAIR :(
I was at work today and I casually mentioned to my boss that I got the new U2 CD, and she got all excited and now I have to bring it in tomorrow so we can put it on the office stereo :) I can't wait!
Does anyone else think it's significant that Bono included the word "iris" in City of Blinding Lights, or am I just reading too much into it?
anyone else get a subscription to u2.com's new member section? I hope the ticket system is as good as pearl jam's fanclub system's. (one of the main reason why i dropped $40)
bring on the tour!!!
I had to chase the UPS man down the street last night in order to get my package from him that had my copy of the deluxe edition of the new album in it.
I put it in my car as I was driving to go pick up friends for dinner. I had heard "Sometimes You Can't Make It On Your Own" when the guys were on SNL, and liked it then.
When the album track played, I had to pull over because I was crying so much I couldn't see. Out of nowhere, I just totally lost it.
Maybe it's because I know that Bono wrote this about his father, and I don't have anything resembling a functional relationship with mine. Or maybe it was something totally random about that particular moment last night. Regardless, it hit me like only a handful of songs have before.
So yeah. *thumbs up* :)
The new U2.com is up. Although I think I liked the old one better.
Okay, this is my first time posting so I hope you forgive me if I say something stupid. Ok.
I tried to subscribe today and the first time I tried, I refreshed the page by accident and I couldn't go forward with the order 'cause they said my name was already registered blah blah blah. So I'm guessing that made me a free subscriber. But I got an e-mail saying something about paying, but I didn't enter any credit card information. Then I tried to subscribe again with a different name, and the same problem happened and I got the same e-mail.
I guess what I'm trying to say is, does anyone know how to delete an account from there? I don't want to get charged $80 and get banned. I'm sorry for rambling, I tend to do that, and I hope someone can help.
Anyway I love the new album! Definitely love 'Miracle Drug' and 'Sometimes...'
So I brought the U2 CD into work today, and we've been listening to it since about 10 a.m. It must've been played about 20 times by now.
I'm so glad I work with people who have an excellent taste in music :) We've been talking about U2 all day!
in a similar vein as the post about the u2 letters, I was wondering what the last issue of propaganda you subscribers received. I only got the popmart-era one, I think (well I only got one and I subscribed sometime before the popmart tour).
Hey guys, I want to make my own U2 tee-shirt and I was wondering if you could post any pics of U2's signs for tours. Like the suitcase, the lemon, Spaceboy, etc.
And what do you think could make a good U2 shirt?
Just sitting here listening to some music and I got this sudden though.. itsn't it awesome how U2 sometimes ends a song on a such an emotional or epic high that even when there's no lyrics you're just left...breathless....? My favorite song is WOWY mostly because the entire song is just one big crescendo of emotion and sound and I can become awashed in its waves..
For only the truly obsessed, some of my favorite endings :)
MD at 2min 44sec
Lemme know how each of the endings make you feel :)
This morning, after waking up and the whatnot, I browsed thru' the channels to watch SpongeBob Squarepants as it is my favorite cartoon, and indeed does make my day all the better.
Well, I kinda got sidetracked with a little show that was airing on MTV2.
Though it had only 15 or so minutes left, "U2: Makes a Video" happened to be showing. I'm sure everyone had already watched it with its air date but It was an experience, I will say. I had never seen U2 preform aside the VERTIGO music video and so as I was watching the remains of the program, it tickled me to see Bono and hear him, see him and that beautiful smile of his. I fell in love all over again.
Just thought I'd share. <3
Ok, been a U2 fan for a long, long time.
However, I never really paid much attention to details or symbolism. I asked my U2 obsessed brother, but he wouldn't explain it to me.
So please, someone explain the buffalos to lost little me. :)
Sorry for another post about u2.com (my, we're chatty these days), but has anyone who has registered and gotten a confirmation email been able to log in?
I've requested a new password twice and I still can't get in. :/ Is there some kind of magic phrase you've got to say when you click the login button?
Has everyone else except me received their U2.com letter getting their new membership ID if they were a Propaganda member? Should I start worrying yet?
hi im brand spanking new to this community and I love U2....
anyways I have a question for anyone who has the special limmited edition cd/album/dvd/and book. I am having a horrible time decifering a word on the "mountain page". On the left hand page it says "...at about 10,000 feet the mountain becomes unfriendly, the rock face (word i can't figure out)only a goat would trust...". Any Help???? It is driving me bonkers.
Thanks in advance.
Is it just me, or have I heard "Original of the Species" somewhere before? Like, a while ago. Please, someone help me out, it's been bugging the hell out of me all week...
Also, my friends bug me about this: Why 1, 2, 3, 14?
Random, but did anyone else notice that the picture of the boys at the top has translucent red bars over everyone except Edge, who is covered by a solid bar and the u2.com logo?
I'm not sure how I feel about that. ;)
