I am hitting the road to Denver, CO tomorrow from Billings, Montana to go to church on 4/20 !! I am bringing my family, it will be my kids first rock n roll concert. Please keep us in your prayers or good karma thoughts (or whatever it is you choose) for our long (safe) 8 to 10 hour drive to get to Denver! Thank you in advance!
Have a great week!
I can't wait to hear and sing 40!!!!
has anyone in the west coast managed to catch all access U2? is it showing three hours behind the east coast time or are they playing it at some other time?
stupid question, but i really want to see it.... thanks!
I think this is worth posting here...
My plane tickets for Ireland came in the mail today. I am going to see U2 and Coldplay in Dublin, then live there for 2 months...It will be my first time going there (or out of the country at all) and I've been dreaming of going all my life. I still can't believe I'm REALLY going...And I don't think it'll really hit me 'till I'm there...And even then, I'll have to pinch myself...or jump in the Liffey!
I'm doing two songs to make up for Sunday because I was out on personal errands with the family.
Song 1 (was slated to be Sunday's "Song of the Day"): "Zooropa" from Zooropa (1993)
Thoughts: N/A because I haven't heard the song.
Song 2 (today's): "City of Blinding Lights" from How to Dismantle An Atomic Bomb (2004)
Thoughts: I've heard this song various times along last week and I'll tell you that it still remains one of my favorite tracks from a really strong U2 album. It seems to be a cousin to both "Where The Streets Have No Name" (its epic feeling as well as the slow instrumental build before going into the vocals) and "New York" (I just get the feeling of similarity from both songs). "City of Blinding Lights" seems more majestic than "New York", probably because it's describing a hypothetical city along with more magical lyrics, which seem to describe this really great romance between two people in the middle of this big, beautiful landscape. "New York" is more gritty feeling and driving and urban. "City of Blinding Lights" really soars for me. It's among the best tracks on HTDAAB and belongs right up there with "Miracle Drug", "Sometimes...", "A Man and a Woman", and "Vertigo".
Favorite lyric: I've seen you walk unafraid
I've seen you in the clothes you've made
Can you see the beauty inside of me?
What happened to the beauty I had inside of me?
U2NewZooland.com and atU2.com are reporting:
Universal New Zealand have informed us that the rumoured 'U2 DVD boxed-set' has just popped up on their release-schedule for September of this year. The set will contain three of U2's "back-catalogue" titles that have previously been unavailable on DVD.
The three titles due out in September are:
Live at Red Rocks
Zoo TV Live from Sydney
Popmart Live from Mexico
It seems that the fourth title that was rumoured to have been included in this boxed-set, 'The Best of 1980-1990', has now been held back for a possible release at a later date as an individual title.
Finally. My Zoo TV tapes have almost had it, both of them...
U2 IS COMING TO CHARLOTTE!!!!!!!!!!! HOLY SHIT!!!! THE CHARLOTTE ARENA IS LIKE A 25 MINUTE DRIVE FROM ME! I WILL BE CAMPING OUTSIDE SATURDAY MORNING FOR TIX. IM IN SHOCK! OMG! SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO HAPPY!
It will be awesome as well because they will be the first act to christen the new Charlotte Arena. whew. man oh man
Now I know this sounds very retarded but I was wondering does any one know how to send fanmail to U2? It bothers me really that I got to their offical website and find nothing mailing like a fan letter to them even an fan e-mail. Anyways sorry to bother you and I hate Ohio right since they don't have any tour dates in Columbus :'( it makes me cry I have NEVER went to one concert it kindof sucks really I only have four cds of theirs. I have no shirts or anything like that to show I am fan but all I know is that I am fan since I was a child.
Lots of Love,
