What do you guys think of a U2 community where you can recommend songs of other artists and bands, songs from who you think U2 fans might like them? Maybe uploading with ''yousendit'', so everybody can download the songs.
Maybe songs from what you think it could have been from a specific U2 era.
Etc, etc, etc...
From ABBA to ZZ Top, and from AC/DC to Frank Zappa... Everything you want, Only if you think U2 fans might like it...
Hey all I have a good friend who I want to get some bono sunglasses replica's but im not sure where abouts would be a good place for them.
She mentioned that she likes all the ones from the past 3 tours ( popmart, elevation and and vertigo) and the only ones i've been able to find are the Bvlgari glasses. However what I'm really looking for are good replica's (as im not able to drop $130 + on the real deal)
Any help is appreciated, as i'd like to get something in this nature for her birthday. much thanks in advance :)
I've been pondering this for about 3 maybe 4 days and I have finally caved. I'm wodering if there's anyone out there who would be willing to pick something up for me at an upcoming show? Like later this month, next month. I'll of course send you money (I kinda remember the prices of things shirts were $30-$40 unless you wanted the old ones which would run $80 or so, poster was $10, pins were $2, program was $20, and the keychain, I totally forgot the price on it) Anyway if someone is willing to do this I'd be really greatfull! Just let me know.
I mentioned this in my very first post to this community, but my boyfriend is a tremendous U2 fan and has become quite a collector. One item he has particular interest in is ticket stubs from any and all concerts. If you or anyone you know is willing to part with a ticket stub from the Vertigo tour or any past tours, please let me know. He IS willing to pay. :) I know those are hard items to part with, but I thought I would ask anyway.
1.) Just before "Sunday, Bloody Sunday" on the Elevation Tour DVD, something (a bottle?) was thrown at Bono. He looked pissed, and gave the reverse peace-sign. What happened?
2.) I received my copy of the 7 EP today in the mail. U2 Wanderer states that it's become 'rare' as of August 2002. How rare, and how much is it worth? I managed to nab one for $10 USD, and was just wondering if that's the going rate.
I was watching a repeat of one of the Ultimate Fighting matches and when one of the fighters came out, his intro music was Bullet the Blue Sky only it didnt sound like U2. The Bassline was really HEAVY and sounded more heavy metal-like. It was still awesome to hear that interpretation of the song though. Does anyone know who did that cover? Even better, can anyone upload it? It sounds pretty cool. Thanks in advance.
Hey guys... do you know where I can get ahold of the video of Bono and Pavarotti singing Ave Maria? Also, An Cat Dubh where Bono crawls around like a cat and stuff. It'd be great if you could upload them or point me towards a place I can download them. Thanks in advance!
Is there any U2 lyric that holds special meaning to you, personally?
I have 2 answers. The first is the last verse of "Summer Rain": "It's not why you're running It's where you're going It's not what you're dreaming But what you're gonna do It's not where you're born It's where you belong It's not how weak But what will make you strong" This has always been inspiration for me when I feel like I'm going to be stuck in the life I'm living forever. Especially the 4 lines have kept me going during more trying parts of my life (to say it simple, I dont have a great family or home relationship).
Also the second lyric that has always cut me deep are from "Sometimes You Can't Make It On Your Own": "I don’t need, I don’t need to hear you say That if we weren’t so alike I’d like you a whole lot more" From the first moment I heard this, I was reminded of my "relationship" with my brother. Everyone has said to me my whole life the reason he hates me is because we are the same person.
These are the two lyrics that mean so much personally to me. I will always love the last verse of "Summer Rain" and will always be haunted by the line from "SYCMIOYO".
"Until The End Of The World" from Achtung Baby (1991)
Thoughts- I think the reason why I love this song so much is because the way Bono's voice blends in beautifully with the melody. Edge's guitar playing is just sheer brilliance. Coming off the album, Achtung Baby (the album in which U2 starts to experiment a bit more with their sound and place in music) "Until The End Of The World" is one of those songs that you can just pray to hear live. It builds you up into almost five minutes of beauty and you can see everything about the song clearly in your mind.
