Apologies if this has been posted before:

For those who have DirecTV, every weekend in May is a 'freeview' of U2's surprise concert in Brooklyn, as filmed by MTV's "Jammed". Aside from the brilliant performance under the Brooklyn Bridge, see the band ride around Manhattan on a flat-bed truck! See Bono give out free pizza. Hear some lucky random dude sing opera with Bono! Watch as some lucky son-of-a-gun is pulled onto the truck and play drums with the boys on "I Will Follow"!

Again, it's channel 124 on DirecTV on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays in May.
Everyday

Song Of The Day

Today's Selection is...

"Pride (In The Name of Love)" from The Unforgettable Fire (1984)

Thoughts: I don't know what it is about this song that is so wonderful. I love it very much but I have to admit it, to me it seems to lack something on the album. When you hear it live though it sounds amazing. Bono puts all that he as into the song, Larry drums beautifully and with all his might, Edge has great guitar solos, and Adam is the glue of the song it makes it all come together. Perhaps I love it more due to the fact of what Bono said about it during the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction- about Adam protecting him from getting shot. (If you haven't heard what he said about it I'm sure someone will be kind enough to explain, and if they don't I will...evenitually)

Chick in the U2 Tour crew

There was post about the only chick in U2's lighting crew a few weeks ago. They spend the whole entire show 30 feet above the Ellipse following the band members around with the spotlights. Well I think I found a picture of her from @U2 Flickr group. I think that's the same girl I saw in Los Angeles, as she climbed above the stage to set her spotlight.

So, I'm sure most of you are aware of Willie William's tour diary available at u2.com for fanclub members. Well, I've been wanting an RSS feed for it for LJ as I don't check u2.com as often as I do my friends page. However, you can't do one as it's not a public blog.

Then I got the idea to make a community for it, instead. One dedicated to just Willie's entries, available for u2.com members and non-members to enjoy on their own friend's page. shinelikeaspoon offered to help out as she checks u2.com a great deal more than I do and loves Mr. Williams even more than I do as well.

Hence, willies_diary was born.

Feel free to join and enjoy the always entertaining and enlightening stories of being on the road with U2 by one of the greatest minds of our age.

Is there anything better than little kids singing U2?

Today my 4 year old foster brother was running around the house singing "Elevation", but with his speech impediment it was:
"El-a-ba-tion! OOOH! OOH! OOH! El-a-ba-tion!"

It was cute, especially when he runs up and asks me "Can you pway 'El-eba-tion OOH! OOH! OOH!'?"
