Evil Me

Street With No Name

Somewhat amusing article in today's Mirror:

EMMA Brogan has a problem when she gives out her address - for she lives in the street with no name.

Her house - the only one on a small road - is bafflingly described as Number 2, off 245 Higginshaw Lane, Royton, Oldham. It causes utter confusion to post workers, delivery drivers, and taxi men. Emma's mail, minicabs and takeaways usually go to neighbour Diane Bell.

Now, after three years of trying to get an address, Oldham Council have agreed to let Emma, 27, officially name the street. She said: "I am over the moon. The best suggestion I have had yet is U2 Road because of their song Where the Streets Have No Name."

Wouldn't that be cool? *g*

Song of the Day

Today's Selection is...

Discothèque from Pop.

You know you love this song. Even if you don't, you should. It's a club beat, meant perfectly for a discotheque. The answer to Pop Music.
Even the video is overly entertaining. U2 in a disco ball. Love it! And then there's the whole Village People Boom Cha thing. Rewind. Re-watch.
Although the new mix found in "The Best of 1990-2000" is better in many ways, it's missing that BOOM-CHA! I usually sing it in to the mix because I miss it so much.
Edge gets "the award" in this song for that riff. That unmistakable "na na na na, na na na na, na na na na, na na na!" that makes the song infectious and dancable too.
Sure it doesn't sound like regular, everyday rockable U2, but it's got that special something that makes me wish someone, anyone would play this the next time I went clubbing.

Favorite Lyrics:
Looking for the one
But you know you're somewhere else instead.
You want to be the song
The song that you hear in your head

Repetitive, and I love it.

Who put a cowbell there?! I love it!

Apparently there was a One campaign special on ABC in the US last night. I forgot to watch it (Damn you, Velvet Goldmine); did anyone record it? If so, is there any chance you could YSI/Bittorent/G-Mail it?
