Rattle And Hum on INHD

I have digital cable, and earlier I was flipping through the on-screen guide looking at movies that were about to start.
Imagine my suprise when I see "U2: Rattle And Hum" listed. I got really, really, excited. Until I noticed it was on the High Definition channels, which I don't have. Damn.

But if anyone does have INHD, you'll be able to catch it again at 11 AM Tuesday, and 1 AM Wednesday, all times Central Standard (so that'd be 12 Noon Tuesday, and 2 AM Wednesday, Eastern).

The times are according to the on-screen guide. The INHD website has it listed, but with no upcoming showtimes listed.

U2 - RTÉ night dedicated to the world's biggest rock band

RTÉ announces night dedicated to U2
On the weekend that U2's Vertigo tour comes to Ireland, RTÉ Two will dedicate a night's programming to the world's biggest rock band.

From 9pm, Saturday 25 June, Gerry Ryan will introduce brand new and archive material and footage in various programmes paying tribute to the band, their songs and live act.

'U2 - Brussels Backstage' is a short film about the huge collaborative effort that went into launching the European phase of the current Vertigo tour.

'U2 - The Show' goes back to the early stages of U2's career, from the simplicity of their first Boy tour through to the huge spectacles that were Zoo TV, Popmart and Elevation and up to the current Vertigo Tour.

'U2 - Covers' looks at some of the covers that have been made of U2 songs.

'U2 - Vertigo' features an interview with U2 manager Paul McGuinness, talking about the creative thinking behind the current tour.

'U2 - The Walk on Tour' takes a humorous look at U2's Dublin through the eyes of John Keogh.

'U2 -One' looks at the appeal of this particular song and the three accompanying videos that were made.

'U2 and I - Anton Corbijn' features the distinguished Dutch photographer talking candidly about his experiences over the past 23 years. He has been photographing the band since 1982 and is responsible for all of their album covers since 'The Unforgettable Fire', and has produced the most famous iconic images of U2.

There will also be a programme showing U2 live at Slane and a 'Music Express Special - Bono and The Edge'.

The night will be punctuated with quirky interviews with the band and rare video clips chosen from the last three decades.

Song Of The Day

Today's Selection is...

“Grace” from All That You Can‘t Leave Behind.

I like this song more than I should. It seems so... Poetically Bono. Adam's bass is turned up to an endearingly loud volume, and I love, love Edge's slide guitar. "What once was hurt,/what once was friction,/what left a mark,/no longer stings,/because Grace makes beauty/out of ugly things..."
