Bono as 2005's Most Inspiring Personality

We have another poll to vote in! I found a blurb in USA Today's Life section that Bono is among the nominees for BeliefNet.com's Most Inspiring Personality of 2005 award. Voting begins today and runs until the 12th on BeliefNet.com.

He's up against Rosa Parks, among others, so I have no idea how well he'll do. Does anyone know how he did in Time's Person of the Year poll?

Alicia Keys and Bono to Release Song

NEW YORK - Alicia Keys and Bono are hoping to save the lives of children through song. The two superstars have collaborated on "Don't Give Up (Africa)," and will donate all proceeds to Keep A Child Alive, which provides medicine to families infected with AIDS and the HIV virus.

The song will be available exclusively on iTunes starting Tuesday. The pair first sang the tune at a Nov. 3 fund-raiser in New York City for the charity (Keys performed onstage while Bono crooned via satellite from a remote location).

"I love this song. And I love Bono. I really respect what he has done for Africa and how he has used his fame to do good in the world. I hope I can do half as much in my life," Keys, a global ambassador for the charity, said in statement Wednesday.

"I believe AIDS is the most important issue we face, because how we treat the poor is a reflection of who we are as a people. I urge everyone to recognize the extreme disaster Africa is facing and step up for the Motherland."

"Don't Give Up" was originally performed by Peter Gabriel and Kate Bush in 1986, and was titled, "So."

Hiya! :)

Hello, I thought i would make a proper post (and mods, please delete this if contrivening any rules).

As there is about 15 hours to go on the Australian presale I was wondering (contiuning on from the generous person below) if there are any northern hempisphere people still with a u2.com presale code they arn't going to use and want to share the u2 love with someone else? I just think i'm going to have a problem lining up on Monday, and would feel ever so much better if I had the tickets in my hands at least now. I would be grateful for all enternity!

Anyway, if not, i will just blame the trains for my lateness to work or sommat, but i thought i'd at least try! :) :)

thank you!

EDIT: The presale has finished! Thank you to the two ppl that emailed me, i didnt get it in time! *cries* hahaha oh well, i'll let you know how my ticket buiying goes on Monday! :)

Prepare yourself to stare at your screen for a while. This is quite possibly the freakiest cool thing I've ever seen:

http://www.solaas.com.ar/dreamlines/applet.php?tema=u2

It needs no introduction, just click, and stare.

If you keep watching, it will go through several different photos. Then it starts repeating itself, going through the same photos over and over again. But you may want to keep watching, because it will do different effects (sometimes making the photos clearer, sometimes fuzzier), and so it never really stops changing.

Basically how it works, you go here and type anything into the box. It does a Google image search, and finds the photos. Then does it's own thing with them. It's really rather neat, and I've just wasted almost an hour staring at it.
