BBC Sherlock

(no subject)

For my History of Rock and Roll class, I have to do a song analysis. I have chosen to analyse Sunday Bloody Sunday.

I'm looking for information about Ireland in the 70's and 80's. I remembr reading a quote by Bono about growing up in Ireland, something about how you would go to a store and the next day the building would be gone. Something like that. Anything about the band and Ireland unrest can be helpful. I am having a hard time finding anything online that is helpful. Perhaps I just suck at using Google.

Also, what is the address for the website that gives the story behind each U2 song? I am trying to find it, but I am having no luck.

Thank you so much for taking the time to even read this.

Bliss for Bono

Mum cut this small article out of the newspaper for me:

Bliss for Bono

As if his rock-star lifestyle wasn't complete, U2 frontman Bono looks set to buy a massive £8million yacht in Antibes in the South of France.

The 45-year-old superstar - who has a £5m mansion in posh Eze sur Mer, near Monaco - was impressed on a guided tour of "Bliss", the super-boat once owned by F1 driver Jacques Villeneuve.

Our mole in the Med says: "It sleeps 12 people, has a F1 simulator on board and Austin Powers-style circular spinning beds." Tough life, eh?

Talk about fandoms colliding crazily - I've been a Jacques Villeneuve fan for years longer than I've been a fan of U2, so the thought of Bono buying JV's yacht is blowing my mind a little. *g*
