Weekend Wrangle

Alright, dearies, this weekend will be fairly easy. And I'm afraid it'll inspire little discussion. Please, feel free to discuss your answers in comments, though. :)

Bono to Release New Book

Bono to release new book

U2 singer's tome is based on White House speech

U2's Bono is set to release a new book.

'On The Move' will be published in the US on April 3.

The tome is derived from the star's speech he made at the White House in 2005. In it he calls on Americans to take action against extreme poverty and AIDS in Africa.

The book will also feature photographs by Bono taken from his first trip to Ethiopia in 1985.

All royalties from the project will go the ONE campaign to Make Poverty History.

Bono was approached by publisher David Moberg about turning his speech into a book.

Moberg said: "I was very motivated after hearing Bono speak and asked myself how we could help. We were honoured to publish this book and assist in whatever way we can with Bono's efforts on behalf of the ONE campaign."

More details on the charity are available at One.org.

Simple yet interesting

I'm sitting in Mass today and our deacon is giving his homily. This is the point where I typically zone out completely, but somehow I was brought back to earth by his mentioning "Boh-no, from the band U2." He went on to say that he was quoted recently as saying (forgive me if this isn't completely accurate), "If you wish to see God, look to the poor." I thought I heard that quote a much longer time ago, but maybe I'm wrong? Time is kind of irrelevant to me lately. And then in the car not even an hour later, Two Hearts Beat As One came on the radio, yay!!

Anybody else ever happen to catch a mere mention of the band in a sermon? What made this even funnier and more amazing is that I'm trying to start coming back to church after a long hiatus, so to come back to something like this made my night. :)
