I wonder how many of you have been to a live concert with U2, and when/where? I was planning to attend the Hawaii concert myself, in April last year, but then I was of course disappointed when the concert was cancelled. In July, I moved from Hawaii, thus having bad luck again because I was 6000 miles away when the concert did occur in December :p Would had been an extraordinary experience, I am sure. Hawaii is my favorite place on Earth.
You may have heard some time ago (last spring, I think it was) that Bono was going to have a small part in the upcoming musical movie Across the Universe, a love story set in the 60s, to Beatles music. The photos from the set caused a slight stir, as Bono was decked out in fake muttonchop sideburns and a fake moustache. The rumour was that Bono is to sing "I Am The Walrus" in the film.
Now, being a big U2 fan (and very much a Bono fan) as well as a big Beatles fan and a big fan of musicals, I was excited about this movie. And over a week ago when I went to see Dreamgirls, I was pleasantly surprised when they played the trailer for Across the Universe. I literally squealed through the whole thing, and squealed even harder when they showed Bono for a whole second and a half =P
And I've spent the time since then waiting for the trailer to show up online, and it finally has. So of course the first thing I did was take a screencap of Bono's bit in it:
I am very, very, very excited about this movie. I haven't found a confirmation on a release date for it, but the word going around the IMDB board for it is "October", which is way too far away.knittedmittens tells me the release date is September 28th.
EDIT: It's occurred to me that maybe I ought to mention that Bono's supposed to be playing Dr. Robert in the film.
