beautiful SATS remix @ 06:51 pm

striped_bouncer:
To get us all through these a bit more quiet days in the life of being a U2 fan, I thought I'd share this with you.

Last night my ipod brought up a beautiful remix of "Staring at the sun." While I'm not really into remixes and always prefer U2's live songs, this one stands out.
It is like an extended Popmart Tour version, the accoustic live variation Bono and Edge did. To me, it's my favorite live version, and I don't know what it is, but this remix kind of takes this feeling I get while listening to the live version and multiplies it, in a positive way. For me, the love truly begins at 3:24.... and whatever happens from 4:09 on, it simply moves me to tears ;-)

So here it is, Staring At The Sun (Brothers In Rhythm Ambient Mix)   -- for those of you interested, it's taken from the Fruitleg "Mandarin". Enjoy.

I cannot say if this is also a part of The Complete U2 since I didn't purchase that collection. But I have the complete Fruitlegs, that's where I found this ;-)

I really love this! I'm on my second listen. I don't think this is part of The Complete U2. I just checked. Unless it's listed under another remix name.

I only have a few of the fruits. Where were you able to get the complete set?

A fellow U2 fan shares the whole collection on his website. There you'll find the complete Fruitlegs - and numerous videos and mp3s ;-)

I believe this release is from a vinyl promo (http://www.u2wanderer.org/disco/pr141.html). Either way, it was not included in the iTunes Complete U2 set.

Heh, "complete" my ass. Stupid iTunes.

Thanks for the info though.

I wish with this downtime U2 would put together a REAL box set of a COMPLETE collection of b-sides and remixes on CD, similar to the one the Cure put out a few years ago.

You can't blame iTunes for the lack of "completeness" ;p The labels put these things together, iTunes just sells what they get :D

Sure I can. Anyone selling music that sounds that crappy at that price deserves some kind of ridicule. The label doing "the Complete U2" was total laziness...selling dozens of songs everyone already has for a ridiculous amount of money just so people can get the couple of unreleased songs and rare remixes in pathetically bad 128 kbps quality...that was lamer than when Clay Aiken covered "WTSHNN."
