Anyway, first things first. canadanne very kindly agreed to put all of our discussion topics in the memories, so you are able to go back and see what was said, or contribute to a past question you might have missed. It's also invaluable for reminding me what we have already talked about so I don't go repeating myself twenty times.
Okay, on to today's. Nothing spectacularly creative, just following one from a past discussion, because I gave blood today and I can't think of anything much at the moment! So...
What's your favourite album opening track?
You might recall we already covered closing tracks. Now's your chance to say which openers you particularly love, and why. Do you like the ones U2 chose, or would you have preferred others? Do uptempo or slow songs work better as openers? etc, etc.
I think all of the opening tracks work really well, but if I had to choose my favourite, I'd probably have to say... Streets. I'm caught between that and Zoo Station. Zoo Station is a brilliant start to AB, it sets the scene for the album excellently and it was so different from U2 after the 80s stuff. But Streets is just so fabulous, the way it builds and explodes and makes you happy. Well, it does for me, anyway. ;)
What do you think?
