I'm currently feelin: amused amused
I'm currently hearin: U2 - Peace-walkon

tell me about your u2 posters...anything unusual?

i have:

the poster that from the first ZooTV tour of the achtung baby cover...it has been the one thing ive decreed will never come off the wall....after 7 years of stapling and restapling, i realized that i should frame it....but not just any frame would do: with a friends help and 100 bucks, we custom framed it in a large silver frame with non reflecting glass.....its awesome and you cant see the damage around the corners unless you really look.....

then i have the subway size poster of the joshua tree, inset picture. it was bought in 97...im sure its from a reprint, but its still cool to have....

u?

I believe I have the same Achtung Baby poster... using the photos from Achtung Baby's cover, plus a few more... with ACHTUNG BABY written along the bottom...

I also have that "Elvis - The American David" poster featuring the poem that Bono wrote back in 94 or so (that was featured in Propaganda), and a copy of the PopMart Sarajevo poster (also from Propaganda).

There's another poster in the computer room here that some guy was selling outside of the arena *after* the Elevation tour last year. It features all the covers of every U2 *album* (starting at Boy), kind of similar to the way the photos on the cover of Achtung Baby are laid out. On the bottom right side of the poster is "U2" in their "ATYCLB font" and the heart in a suitcase.

I have the sixteen pictures from the front of the Achtung Baby cover- each are 1 foot x 1 foot squares. I guess it was some kind of promo-flat thing made in Germany. They are pretty cool, and I have them covered in protective plastic and hanging on my wall. Everyone always comments on it.

As for other posters, I have subway sized versions of the Pop cover and the ATYCLB promotional poster that was up in Virgin megastore (had to bed for that one), plus 2 posters from the last tour listing all the dates of leg 1, 2, and 3.

I have way too much other stuff in here too, hehe. Oh well.

*looks around bedroom*

I have the huge post of the Joshua Tree. THis poster has graced each new residence for me even before the furniture!! I need to fram it but its expensive :( Second I have the poster from Best of with the boys on one side back in 87 walking on a bridge, and the flip side is the War boy with an army helmet on. Then I have a post of them from the Achtung Baby tour getting on a plane from the back ramp. And lastly I have several of the POP posters (the arch and them on stage and one with the four of them under hair dryers?!?!?!). I had a poster of ATYCLB that I got FOR FREE from the mall, big ol thing, but I left it at the mall when I had chineese food. *cries* .

Sighh
Those are my posters.

They're all still in storage right now, but...

I have a huge (almost life-sized) black & white poster of Bono onstage - from the perspective of the stage, looking out onto the crowd - wearing a cowboy hat, from the JT era.

I've got the one with the lads getting on a plane, and one of Bono lighting a smoke while leaning into the camera, bracing himself against the front of a car. These are both in black & white too, and appear to be from the same photo shoot.

The one I've had the longest is a colour shot of the four of them outside, wearing what appear to be the same outfits they wore in the "Gloria" video. I've had that poster as long as some of you have been alive, probably. ;>

This might not count, but I've got a record flat of Zooropa.

mostly cheapies, like a promotional beautiful day single poster, the pop poster where they're standing against the ugly brown paneling, r&h b&w journey through two americas poster, etc. the elevation tour poster. things you can buy at a collge poster sale.

two oldies but goodies, both having seen much wear and tear: a vera vera old fold-out pull-out from some irish teen magazine of bono. i'd say '82 maybe. an irish pen pal sent it to me as a gift. i think she stole it from someone who valued it because it's seen a lot of tape.
and a red, black, and white war poster, meant to be a concert advertisement b/c it's got a space for venue and date that was never filled in. slightly bent around the edges and the paper is getting stiff. i bought it at a record shop for five bucks.

.oO Posters! :)

I love to collect them but I never have enough wall space to display most of them! :-)

My two favorites are: the "movie lobby" cards (a set of eight) from Rattle and Hum; and though not really a poster, I have these two corrugated pieces of cardboard from PopMart Sao Paulo (Brazil) -- the boys are posing in one (cut out to follow the shapes of all four) and a circular piece ala PopMart logo -- fairly large and no mean feat to carry from Brazil to Portland, OR via Argentina ;-)

Right now I only have one U2 poster up (space constriction!!). It is a Rattle & Hum poster, b&w with the guys sitting on the floor and Edge with his guitar. I love it, I am also trying to find a WAR era poster....
