U2's opinion on the US presidential race

A couple months ago I went to an event for Senator Barack Obama here in Los Angeles. It was amazing, from the musical performers (Ne-Yo and The Goo Goo Dolls) to the personal stories that a lot of the celebrities shared, to, of course, hearing the next president of the united states speak in the same room as me. If you couldn't tell, I'm a HUGE Obama supporter. One of the best things about the night though, was after The Goo Goo Dolls introduced Mr. Obama, they played the chorus to U2's City of Blinding Lights for him to walk onstage to!!
That moment was incredible. What a fitting choice- the presidential campaign that I believe has so much hope to change the world paired with my favorite band of all time!
It feels like the two go hand in hand - listening to U2's music makes me think of Barack Obama and how much I believe in him, and seeing the man speak makes me want to listen to U2!

I was wondering- does anybody know what the opinion of the band is on the race? I know they arent US citizens and that their view doesn't REALLY matter, at least not to those of us who arent U2 fans, but it seems like the rest of the world is getting into this election much more than other times, mainly because of the brilliance of the candidates the democratic party has, and also because who we elect apparently does have an effect on the rest of the world.
I'd love to hear who U2 would endorse and vote for if they were citizens of the US. I have a feeling it would be my Obama.

Obama 08!
