I'm currently feelin: tired tired
I'm currently hearin: The washer or dryer...whichever it is.

So I'm sitting in my dorm room, just on the computer...when I hear this noise. It's either the washer or dryer down the hall, I'm not sure - but it sounds just like the intro to Daddy's Gonna Pay For Your Crashed Car.

Washing machines also make me think of the intro to Discotheque. Does anyone else have any sounds that make you think of U2 songs? Or am I just the oddball?

I can't think of personal examples, but maybe someone with the Flannagan book handy might be able to give a more detailed answer. Isn't the whammy effect intro to Even Better Than the Real Thing inspired by the noise that one of the trains in Germany or somewhere in Europe make?

I totally think of washing machines and Discotheque, too. *laughs*

I've listened to Vertigo so much that whenever I hear the click-click-click-click of drumsticks to set a tempo, I immediately expect an "Uno, dos, tres, catorce!!" to follow.

Hahahaha! That's awesome.

My VCR ejecting a tape once reminded me of Stuck In A Moment, and a clunky manhole cover in Dublin reminded me of Last Night On Earth (First Night In Hell)... there are probably others I can't think of. So it's not just you. *g*
